that are no discounts, but have discount codes and make themselves look like a discounted package.

I was getting some trip quotes via Disney's website and a week later I received a mailer for a room and park ticket package.

I priced out the same on the web and saw no discount. I have a code that to me is fake.

I've been doing this for a very long time and I have more than 40 trips under my belt and I didn't make an error, here.

I received a similar mailier and it said "Save up to 30% this Fall" but didn't have any code and just directed you to the website where the normal offers are posted. I just think it's normal spam they send out after you have been on the website. But thanks for th heads up.:coffee:

I got one of those, but it didn't say anything about a discount. Although it clearly leads one to believe they'll be getting special savings, due to having to use their "code." Just like the OP, I knew to compare their prices with rack rates, and there are NO savings to be had ... clearly misleading to the uninformed.

There's a lot of these going around. The codes aren't discount codes (not even the same format). They're just marketing codes so Disney knows which mailers are effective. And presumably they are effective because Disney uses them a lot.

It always pays to check the prices.

I have also gotten a few of these lately, as well as some email offers with no actual discount. So annoying! I get all excited thinking I got a PIN, but nooooo.

I got one of those too. Made me so upset when i realized I wasn't getting a discount. I called with the "code" just to make sure. I told the CM "well that is the same price I was quoted online" she just said that she can't see the actual discount amount that I was getting. I told her that was really wrong of them to send out these teasers. Shame shame shame on them!

Yep, we got the same code too. We weren't going at that time but for the heck of it I checked out the prices and there was no discount. Kinda sad.

My guess?? The 30% discount that another PP referenced is 30% less than perhaps the peak season rate....since it doesn't refer to 30% off fall rates....

It's basically just trying to entice you to stay in fall, when prices are cheaper but occupancies are lower....they want to fill rooms during that time period.

I also received one last year. Inviting me to pay rack rate in October. Um....no thanks!

We got the same thing a few days ago, it said it was for most November dates. It had a 3 letter/ number code to use. When I went to the website the mailer said to go to there was no place to inter the code. When I checked it and compared it to rooms with out discounts it was the same exact price. It was a mailer thanking us for our last trip and telling us not to pass up on this deal to go back. We are going in February so maybe we will see something out there for our dates.
