Watch out Dumbo, There's a bigger Circus coming to Town...Triplets take on the World

Great pics. thanks for sharing your family with us!!! :goodvibes

yes my family is nutty... glad you "met" them!

Your Christmas pictures were cracking me up!!! :lmao: And I thought MY family was insane!! :crazy2: Love the Elf costume!

SANTA!!!! I know him....I KNOW him!!! :hyper:

You're not Santa. You don't smell like Santa, you smell like Beef and Cheese! :headache:

You sit on a throne of LIES!!!

Yeah, we love that movie... :rolleyes1

BEST MOVIE EVER!!!! need to get our families together!!! can you image the craziness?!?!

I think that is the perfect solution. It's your birthday TOO and you should get one thing that you really want since the rest of the trip is all for the kids. So I think you chose wisely with the dessert party.

I love the Christmas pictures and the Santas...too cute. Nice to meet your family, Mo. :goodvibes

thank you!!! more below.. I need help..

:rotfl2: You have me cracking up with your excitement! It's contagious! I am so excited to go back this year too for all the new fun stuffs!!! EEEEP!

I'ts KILLING ME!!! i just LOVE all this!!!!! i hope your dates do overlap!!!

My oh my, Dessert Party, my one regret from trip #1 was not getting that sucker booked!!! It will be a priority this time!!! And I will eat a large lunch and NOTHING afterwards until time to go crazy on some desserts!! :cutie:

Yes this is going to happen. I checked the sites Suzi suggested.. you can book 180 out!!! :cool1:

All your planning sounds fantastic, its getting closerrrrr!!! :)

It really really is.. and i annot make up my mind for CRAP..

Hmmm... you could do a broader theme like "Disney Junior" that encompasses a bunch of shows for that theme? Or for something easy peasy 101 Dalmations. You could also all be Mickey Mouse, but dressed up in his different styles, like Western Mickey, Space Mickey, etc? That'd be really cute! You could also all dress as a different resort theme? Like one person is the Poly, Boardwalk, etc? I know, now I'm getting crazy! Lol! I've already been thinking about Halloween Costumes too!!!

I do believe we will be going with the original MM club.. just easy and light to wear! i cannot wait to see what you come up with!!!!

First of all... "Do these flip-flops make my feet look fat?" <---- Its a VERY valid concern! You must not laugh, only give an HONEST opinion.

no... it isn't!!! NO your feet DO NOT look fat!!!! :rotfl:

Looking forward to the 2nd annual Dismeet... Sigh - I didn't get airfare for Christmas, and I haven't even looked. :/ I need to do that soon.

:surfweb:

I loved all of the Christmas pictures... I especially LOVED your Step-Dad's Elf costume! That is awesome! I want one for myself... His socks are the best! I have a pair just like that with fur on the top.

Isn't it the best!!!! I love my family SO MUCH!!!

Loved your shoes - those are still the BEST shoes ever!

And, of course - those adorable midgets... So cute! As usual.

D~

Thanks! Umm about the shoes...

Oh Mo, thanks for sharing your family with us! Looks like a lot of love mixed in with all that craziness!! Traditions make such wonderful memories. And what a great guy to be willing to dress in an elf costume. He rocks!

isn't he the best??? i was SHOCKED along with the rest of us when he walked down the stair like that!!! SOOO awesome!!!

What do you mean you can't buy more than 7 day tickets with a package?? I just bought a package for our upcoming trip and got 9 day park hopper tickets with it. Or am I misunderstanding you? That's entirely possible since it's so cold my brain is frozen. Sounds like you have lots of decisions to make now. Good thing you started so early. And at least you know you'll be doing the MNSSHP and the dessert party, so you've got that going for you. Good luck with the new plans.

I am not buying a package deal.. I have a better deal going on.. But when calling to buy the tickets i cannot buy the amount of tickets i need!!! without spending a BOAT load of cash!!!!
Oh just wait i need anyone on board for the next installment

Have a nice (warm!) day!

ETA: Don't you love when D~:stir::rotfl2:

you too!!! about to get our ARCTIC blast!!

yeah that D~....

I forgot. Here's a link to five free printouts you might like for the munchkins.

http://farmerswiferambles.com/2013/10/free-frozen-movie-printables/

these are AWESOME!!! THANK YOU!!!

You can buy a package with 10 day park tickets. We did it last year and I just checked and it is still available. Though a couple of down days is not a bad thing either. If you and the munchkins are into Harry Potter, or Despicable Me, a trip to the Dark Side is also an option, but those tickets aren't cheap either.

i know!!! I am still in a fog of what's going on... it's gets more complicated in a second..

YaY for the dessert party! We had fun there last year. There was is a dis group that keeps track of when the dessert party opens for reservations. I'll have to find it again.

don't have to worry about that anymore it's an 180 ADR now!!!!
yes the dessert party is going to happen!!

Oh, and just fyi- The hubs and I booked a shuttle and park tickets to Universal on our DIsney trip just for the day. We did both parks and with the shuttle to and fro it was like $275... VERY pricey for one day...

I KNOW!!! i cannot believe how $$ it is for the one day!!! hence all my issues right now.. but i think i may have a solution?!?!

but thats how Disney is too...the more days you go the more insanely cheap it gets, but those first few will cost ya!!!

kills me...

BUT we had an AMAZING time whilst visiting the dark side, youll see soon enough, I am ALMOST up to the point of blogging that day in my TR...though I got very few photos. But for me, as a Potter fan, Simpsons fan, and general movie fan it was a MUST DO, and my, their rides are soooooooo SO FUNNNN! So thrilling and fun!! But not a good place for littles, there were wayyyyy too many rides they would have missed out on and that would have slowed us down soooo much, thats why we opted to leave them with the grandparents and go it alone, just so ya know! Because when you only have one day and are paying a LOT for it you want to fit in as much as possible!!!

I just caught up on your report. US looked KILLER!!!! i would LOVE to shoot it all!!! plus like you i am a HP fan!!! BUT if the kids cannot get on the rides i will wait until they can.. otherwise it's a waste of $$ for us!

Hi! I just found your PTR! I haven't read everything yet, but I saw the most important part...You are all booked! :cool1:

:wave2: Welcome to the party!!!! i am booked... now comes ALL the confusion!!!

We are going in September too! Its only a short 4 night 5 day trip, but I am super excited! We stayed at the Poly last time, it was amazing! I wanted to stay there again, but we had a smaller budget this time so we went with AKL!
Can't wait to read all about your plans!

ALK is cheaper then the Poly?!?! I am shocked at the prices right now! especially with all the construction going on. no one wants to stay there.. except me and my Poly addiction!

I just went to find the thread about the dessert party and it says you book at 180 days now. :cool1: One more ADR to try to get that day, but at least you know when to do it!!!!:rotfl2:

Wishes Dessert Party ADR Watch Tread #3-book @ 180 Days Now!
I copied and pasted....don't know how to get the link to the thread up here, but it is under Disney dining reservations. I just did a search of the tommorowland terrace dessert party.......hope this helps :goodvibes

Oooh - that is interesting! Hmmm... At least I know in time! Thanks so much for sharing! :thumbsup2

D~

Good info!!! Thanks!!!

Just double checked Disney web site and it does say that 180 day ADRs are recommended for the Dessert Party! Yay! I was always nervous about missing the 90 day one!

Glad you could use them. Love that movie!!!

DANG!!!

You all knew! i just figured that out on Friday during my crazy planning!!! i was searching the links Suzi suggested and there i found the party is now an AWESOME 180 ADR!!! i was SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
now let me bombard you all with the next problem...

i need advice!!!

So i was doing my excel sheets. entering the ADR on days.. Which in turn is the park for that day!

this is where it got confusing and not happening.

Day 1- arrival day.. Entering into the perfect lobby greeted by waterfalls and getting lei-ed. or total construction :confused3 like ANY newbie would want run to MK see the castle.. not knowing the times we will get in possible have dinner at Ohana

Day 2 Dessert party

Day 3 very low key day because we will be going to the Halloween party!

Day 4 Tusker House Breakfast

Day 5 Sci Fi

Day 6 Beirgarden or Akershus

Day 7

Day 8 Day Off possible Breakfast at Ohana then departure day if we do not leave until later in the day we can ENJOY the poly and all it has to offer. Maybe Zack can go over and help with construction!!! :rotfl:

this horrible scenario would put us in MK the first three days!!! NO.

so here i pose my questions to all of you!

1. Which park do you think the kids would have the best birthday EVER?

2. may have to kill the first day being a MK day and possible monorail it over to Epcot?

3. Just noticed the MNSSHP is on Tuesday and Fridays. i pick the Tuesday i am sure Fridays are crazy..

4. Dessert party and Halloween party are going to be pretty late days! change the day after to HS? for dinner at Scifi

5 still need to add BOG!!! that would put me right back for MK day...

ADR'S
8 days:
Ohana dinner and breakfast (last day)
Scifi lunch or dinner
Tusker House breakfast

how do i fit in BOG?!?!
Dessert party
and MNSSHP?

IF akershus does turn into a frozen Character meal we will do that we well. which would account for our Epcot day.

Could do BOG dinner before MNSSHP?

I want to do a power point for Jen and family. Then they can make a decision if they will be doing ADR's with us or going on their own.. I have no idea what they are thinking we have not talked about this trip at all.
did i mention adr time is about 44 days??:confused3

Ok, here's my suggestion.

Day 1 - arrival day, dinner at Ohana :)

Day 2 - MK - Dessert Party - you are not going to want to eat a big dinner this night, so plan on eating a later lunch.

Day 3 - I would move AK day to here and do Tusker House Breakfast, then go to party at MK, especially since this will be a late night and you won't want to get up early for breakfast on Day 4

Day 4 - MK - BOG - Birthday (unless you want to do Fantasmic on BD)

Day 5 - HS - Sci Fi

Day 6 - off day - play in pool

Day 7 - Epcot - Biergarten or Akershaus

Day 8 - breakfast at Ohana - departure day

Grrr, I am on my tablet, so I have to work by memory.

I know you want to run to Mk on arrival day, but I also like the sound of hanging out at the resort and doing ohana...

I would not do your first 3 days at mk, that's just too much. I would switch one to Epcot.

I agree about mnsshp on Tues vs. Fri, for sure! Since you can get into the park at 4pm with your party tickets, either do bog right away, like a 4:15 ADR, and I know timing is everything... You must be out of bog asap, or you will be missing out on prime mnsshp time.

I try to break up my days a little bit... Like no more ythan 2 park days, and I try to do an early closing with a later opening park, if I can... So am first then Epcot the next day.

As for actual birthday, I think that any of the parks would be great!

I know, not much help. Sigh.

D~

this is just so bad.. You know i am going to change again once times are out.

You all helped a great deal.. honestly i ALL night i dreamped about this!!!

What about this:

Day one arrival: Epcot

Day 2 Dessert party

Day 3 Down and then BOG MNSSHP

Day 4 Scifi

Day 5 Tusker house

Day 6 Beirgarden or Akershus

Day 7 ?!?!?!

Day 8 Ohana Breakfast then the DREADED D-Day:sad:

does this look better?!?!? when we feel like it i need a DTD day too... Maybe Switch day 7 and day 4??? I would LOVE to go to Raglan Road??? :scratchin

Decisions decisions!!!!

Could you make the dessert party later on, say the 7th? I know that would get you to MK on your third day and that's a long time to wait to see the castle, but I think doing BOG on party night would be a great idea. I was going to suggest that. Make it a light lunch and an early ADR for BOG and you'll be good to go. You won't miss any of the party and you get the fabulousness of BOG. You could then do HS on your second day, and have a down day or DTD day on the 4th day. Might need that after the late night at the MNSSHP.
So, here are my suggestions:

Arrival day: Epcot
day 2 HS
day 3 MK, BOG, MNSSHP
day 4 down day/DTD day
day 5 AK
day 6 Epcot
day 7 MK, dessert party
day 8 cry

Personally, I LIKE three days in MK, but that's just me. Also, with park hoppers, we tend to get to all of them multiple times. I'm thinking, in spite of your love for the Poly, you may be changing resorts due to the worry over the construction. Believe me, even though you love the Poly, the other resorts are mostly all just as fabulous. You would have a wonderful time at any of them. Something to think about. I hate to see you worry over what you may find once you get there. Hope this helps.

A down day in the middle of your stay sounds like a good idea. I think if you are considering changing resorts you think about Beach Club - the kids would love the pool. Or you could pick Boardwalk....just sayin'

Are you doing hoppers?? If you are then stop stressing so much! Once the times and crowd predictions cone out, just base your days roughly on that. This is exactly why I do hoppers...just reduces the stress level tenfold! If you end up getting a great ADR then decide to switch park days....you are fine. Especially with the Poly as home base. It is so easy to hop staying there :)

did i mention adr time is about 44 days??:confused3

Well....I know for us I think the only ADR I am going to book on arrival day is the dessert party! I know that it's late enough that we will be able to get there, so thats a suggestion! There's just something about starting your trip off in MK, I don't think I could not go there my first day!! So if it were me I would do...

Day 1- Arrival/ Maybe eat at Captain Cooks when you check in/ head to MK and do dessert party and start your trip off with seeing that Castle and maybe have enough time to squeeze in a spin on the new Mine Train!!!

Day 2- EPCOT: You will have TONS of energy with it being your first full day so making it to a morning ADR like Akershus would be easy peasy! But the Beirgarten was so coool! So either of those ADRs would be amazeballs!

Day 3- Rest Day/ MNSSHP: I wouldn't do BOG on this day...it's just me, but I want to really sit and enjoy that meal, and if you go later for dinner you can meet the beast, and I just wouldn't want a big sit down meal when I am going to be in a costume...but I would do it if this were your only option to fit it in!

Day 4- AK: Tusker house for breakfast sounds great, tho I wouldn't put that ADR too early since you could potentially be out til midnight at the MNSSHP the night before! This park usually closes early and you guys might be worn from the previous night so this is a good choice for this day!!

Day 5- HS: Hopefully having the night off from parks will refresh you to spend a whole day here! We're planning on Sci Fi too tho I heard the foods not all that special...I was tempted to do 50s Prime Time again, but I want to try something new, even tho their food was spectacular!

Day 6- MK (This would be fri right? MNSSHP?) So we are planning on doing MK on a MNSSHP Day but not do the party that night, and that would work for you too...you have until 7pm to leave the park, so you could do BOG this night after spending most the day in the park, then you could leave after your dinner and head over to DTD for the rest of the evening! You could do Disny Quest or Splitsville with this amount of time! ;)

Day 7- I would maybe make 2 plans for this day and let the family decide together! You could either go to MK again, because lets face it, it is the BEST, or you could go back to EPCOT if F&W is going on you may want twice there or just let the fam decide where they want to revisit! I personally would maybe do EPCOT and squeeze in the other ADR you didnt get to do the first Epcot day, or MK!

Day 8- Bye Bye Disney!

So that's what I would do.... :) :thumbsup2

As for the birthday thing, I dont think it matters much which park you are in for the actual day! They will have a blast anywhere at Disney, and you pretty much will be celebrating your birthday the WHOLE week with the bday pins on anyway!!! If it were me I would decorate the room or something on the actual bday day tho just to make it special!

PS My days right now look something like this...

1- Arrival/MK: Dessert Party
2- MK: BOG (Dinner) also our BBB day
3-EP: Akershus (Breakfast)
4- Rest Day/ MNSSHP : No ADRs today!
5- HS: Sci Fi (Dinner)
6- EP: Via Napoli (Dinner)
7- MK/DTD (MNSSHO night): Ohana (Breakfast)
8- AK: Hoop De Doo (Dinner)
9- MK: Crystal Palace (Breakfast)
10- Leave and SOB...

Clearly, you can see I think you can never visit MK enough! We'll be there like 5 days! But once is arrival, once is Party day, and once well leave early for DTD!!

this is just so bad.. You know i am going to change again once times are out.

Decisions decisions!!!!

I think this sounds much better. Will the kids need to sleep in after the party? Maybe make Day 4, pool time in the a.m. and studios in the afternoon?

We love Raglan Road...so try to fit that in.

Can't quote off my phone.. but I promise to do replies..

I kinda wanted to do the dessert party ON their birthday?!?

I wouldn't do Disney without a hoppers!!! i love the freedom it gives. i cannot agree more being at the poly i can jump anywhere and still be where i need to be without worry..

Well....I know for us I think the only ADR I am going to book on arrival day is the dessert party! I know that it's late enough that we will be able to get there, so thats a suggestion! We love Raglan Road...so try to fit that in.

Yes they will need a sleep in day. last time we did the christmas party then had to be at MK for rope drop... that was a ROUGH day..

Which day is the actual bday again?
day 2!!

**********************************************************

OK i told ya i would come back.
So Day 2 is the kids birthday. I really wanted to do the dessert party on their birthday. So i believe Epcot might be our arrival day we can wave at the castle on the way to our room (if we can see it) or we might be heading over to another resort? not going to think about that right now..

OK this may sound better..

Day 1 arrival day head on over to Epcot? or whatever park has EMH at night. whichever we need to go and say HI to Mickey tell him we have arrived!!! Ohana dinner. get a good night sleep for the BIG day..

Day 2 BIRTHDAY!!! yep their actual birthday. SO dessert party on this day.. Doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a MK day.. all depends on what time Wishes is going to happen! again can't do too much until the times are out.:furious:

Day 3 sleep in get as much sleep as possible because another late night for MNSSHP which i would love to do BOG for dinner Party usually starts at 7? but allow people in at 4??

Day 4 late start day want to be very low key.. Maybe HS for Scifi dinner OR our total down day and head over to DTD raglan road Hope for a day that has EMH at night

Day 5 AK Tusker house Breakfast

Day 6 depends on crowd calendar HS or Epcot

Day 7 depends on Crowd calendar Epcot or HS maybe hit Mk to say goodbye to the castle?

Day 8 D-day Resort day with Ohana breakfast.

Apparently i need the crowd calendar AND the times... :surfweb: popcorn:: :surfweb:

Kids off of school today because of the cold.. The crazy volleyball Coach is still having practice... :cool2:

alright now that you know which day i have to keep in stone what do you think???

i agree... But i want to do the Dessert party on their birthday.. im not worried about the poly just yet. I will stay booked there until the rumors are over and the truth comes out. I dont' mind 3 days at MK.

That's a good plan! MNSSHP will hopefully not happen on your Day 2 then, because I am sure they wont do that event on a party night right? Where did you hear Tuesdays & Fridays are party nights? Is that a thing? On my lines app it predicted some days it will be held but they weren't tues/fri and I saw last year there were some nights where it was held two days in a row... just curious what you heard!

And no, were not doing MNSSHP twice, just once but we will go to MK on another day the party is being held and leave early and use that as our DTD night I think. Again, just waiting, rather impatiently, for the official schedule to be released!!

Just catching up on your PTR from before you posted you were officially booked and I just wanted to say :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay: YIPPIE!!!!

I loved seeing your family pictures at Christmas. I imagine Christmas is never boring with your family - my kind of day!

Now for your plans:

This plan sounds good to me. I love that you will be doing the dessert party for the muchkins's actual birthday. :cool1: Staying in the park and seeing the fireworks is so much better then the pirate cruise (not that I've been to either). That castle show is really enjoyable (in my personal opinion). And then not having to rush off to a park the next morning will be a nice treat.

A few questions/comments -

If you plan on going to Epcot on arrival day I would try to make a reservation for dinner there so you don't have to rush back to the Poly for dinner. Unless Ohana is the priority then your quick visit to Epcot would be fun, especially since you are on the monorail.

Your MNSSHP day - you can usually tell which days they will have the party based on the previous years calendar. I know in late Sept / early Oct they have the party on more then two nights. We have always gone in Oct/Nov/Dec so I always need to plan around the parties and if you look back you can see the pattern or if you haven't already, check for someone's predictions on the disboards. We have never actually gone to one of the parties (my kids are not nightowls by any stretch and I am just too cheap to pay for the extra tickets since they probably won't get to enjoy the party). We do usually hit MK on a party day and have found the crowds to be very light up until about 4:30 when the party crowds start to enter.

Lots of folks try to get early reservations in the park for the party so they can hit the ground running at 7 pm. I know if you want to do things like meet the dwarfs or Jack and Sally you have to be in line WAY before 7 pm.

A while back Nini posted that she felt she had better/faster service with a smaller party size then when her entire group (7 I think) ate at the same time. As a party of 6 (automatic gratuity) we have experienced the same thing and it seems to take us at least 90 minutes to 2 hours to have a meal at an ADR. The servers just don't seem to be in a rush to get our drinks, get our dessert orders or even bring our check. So you might want to factor that in when you are going to be eating with Jen's family. The only exception we had to that was at Kona cafe on your last trip where we had GREAT service and a GREAT meal.

Your day after the party at HS sounds like a good choice. With FP+ you can schedule a later ride on Toy Story Mania and enjoy that park even with a later start. Plus that park is smaller and you can probably do it in a shorter day.

I would totally plan on going to MK another day (6 or 7) depending on the crowd calendar, only because I love MK and we always spend 3 days there concentrating on a different section of the park and doing our favorites on each day . Like I said, MK on the party days is usually low crowds and that might be a good night to try and get BOG. I think we had a 6 or 6:30 ADR there on a party night and we were literally the last people in there. We had the castle to ourselves and were escorted to the front of the park (since we were not staying for the party). We scheduled our FP+ for Enchanted Tales with Belle right before our dinner reservation so we saw Belle and then Beast. We have also done MK on a party night and then gone to Chef Mickey for dinner. I know the theory is to avoid the MK on Saturdays as there are usually lots of locals plus the regular crowds.

Just wanted to make sure that your trip is not Sept 5 or 6 since they are having the Night of Joy nights there on those days. I think they are at the MK and it closes early.

Sorry for the long ramble. I'm so excited that your trip is getting down to about 7 months away. I too am impressed that you have kept the secret so long and I love that the kids are saving money for a trip.

Having park hoppers makes all the difference in the world!:thumbsup2 That frees you to follow your plan or make changes as needed. So with that in mind, I think what you have scheduled is fine. Make the ADRs you want and figure the details out later when the park schedules come out. No worries. I do think it's a great idea to rest a bit the day after the MNNSHP and would make a great DTD day.

To me, planning is half the fun of the trip and you don't seem to be having much fun with it. I hope you can take a deep breath and just enjoy the process. Go with the flow and try not to get too frustrated with things you cannot change anyway. Use your rapier wit to defeat whatever obstacles come your way. After all, you're SUPER MO!!! Remember??:goodvibes

Have a fantastic (if frigid) day!! (we're at -10 right now with -23 wind chill...brrr!)

Now i pose a question to all of you...
Pirates cruise? Or Dessert party? the dessert party is my vote. ONLY because of my photography.
yet this is a trip for the kids... which i am SURE their vote is for the cruise..

I need to call Disney AGAIN to ask about pricing on everything soon too..

We have not done the dessert party but have done the pirates cruise. We really enjoyed it and the kids had a ton of fun. I loved all the time we got to spend with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee and the special surprise at the end.

I am not booking a package deal. when talking to Disney they will only sell 7 day park tickets. which means i would have to buy days.. Are you OUT of your mind?!? No way.. so we were going to drop a couple of days..
No way. Don't wanna.

So we are coming up with the following:

1. Down days No park. which sounds CRAZY to some. Honestly is needed!!! paying a large price for the poly so why not ENJOY the resort more!!!

2. Do not know the flight times yet. Usually take the earliest flight out, i want to get there ASAP! No waiting around! gotta get to Disney!!!
Like to take the last flight out. again more Disney time. BUT is that really a full park day? no not really.

3. ADD more days and jump over to universal. :confused3

Up in the air still..

We actually enjoy down days. I am a firm believer that when you are paying 300+ a night for a room you should enjoy the resort for some of the trip.
