Watch because airfare will drop this week

surprised to grab a $56 credit from SWA for Saturday flight on July travel dates this am, coming here to post;)

That's a great fare! We just are not seeing those fares here in the DC/Baltimore area. We use to, but right now the fares are staying high. If I was offered that, I'd jump on it so fast. I'm still watching for mid-August and October and both are way out of my league right now! Congratulations!!

I just paid 760 on Southwest for four people round trip from Dallas to Orlando for our June trip! :cool1: Now I don't have to drive all that way with three teenagers in the car :banana:

Tampa to Hartford came back down to $134 today so I grabbed it. Will still watch for a further drop (although I don't anticipate one!) & will take the credits. With my 2 free RT certificates, I am paying $300 for 3 RTs between Hartford and Tampa, all in all not bad, not great but not bad ;)

Well, I just happen to check on SW to check prices on our trip in Aug and flights went down...not as low as I'd like, but they did go down. After I discussed this with my husband and went onto book the flights....my power went out! I'm taking that as a sign from God and I'm gonna wait til later today/tomorrow to see if the flights drop any more!!! Wish me luck!!!:thumbsup2

not my fare but credit;) off the $670 i've spent for 2 tickets:laughing:, still if the pattern keeps going, i'll have enough funds for 1 way tix in the fall:wizard:

So SW will give you a credit if you are already booked? my prices have dropped over $60

Yes they will give you a credit if you have already booked. You have one year to use from the original date of purchase (not the travel date). You need to look under travel tools and then choose "change reservation"

I happened to check SW this morning about 9:15 am as I try to check on a daily basis for lower fairs and our return flight was $38 less per person. So I made the change right away. For what ever reason I just check the same flight again right now (1:45 pm on the same day) and the price was back up $38! Crazy! However I am thrilled I was at least able to get the credit this morning. We are traveling on a Friday from Chicago in June.

No flight drops here out of Baltimore for the end of September :-(

We will be driving if they don't come down! With 5 of us we would save over $600 by driving.

Checked SW today and the prices from Buffalo to Orlando in July dropped almost $100 per person. I had a reservation through SW Group travel for 10 people at a cost of $3788 and was able to cancel it and go online and get it for $2894. We are so happy, more money to spend in Disney.:cool1:

Dallas to Orlando flights down to $77 weekdays only. Unfortunately we have to fly Saturday - Saturday and those dates are still $194-$254. Fingers crossed for weekend discounts in the future.

Prices arent coming down for us yet looking for late Aug-Sept from Buffalo to Orlando still 174 per person one way

I am also flying out of PHL to MCO for dates 8/24 - 9/3. I am
going INSANE. Last year I paid $98 that later dropped down to $83
I got my $75 credit ($15/5 tickets) and I was HAPPY!! Little did I know that $75 credit from last year is only worth PEANUTS this year!!! :rotfl:

Sounds like the $137 works for you and I am happy for you. We are also traveling with 5 people from PHL to MCO. Roundtrip for us from 8/24 to 9/3 is $1610!!!! :scared1: Last year Roundtrip we paid less than $1000 !!! Oh dear, whatever shall I do!! :sad2:

No way did mine drop. We paid 89.00 each way and now it is 137. and 110 for each way... WOW. So glad I booked when I did (PHL-MCO)

I booked back in February for August and we are flying out of Asheville, NC on Airtran and we got non-stop to Orlando for $67 per person each way! It has dropped down to $65 this past week. Not really worth calling to get a credit on though!:)

Oh Dear, I dont know what I am going to do. I am flying from PHL to MCO on 8/24. Last week the cheapest morning flight was $110 with one stop and no plane change. Now its up to $137!!!! I thought flying late august would be reasonable airfare. Oh dear....i am worried that this trip may cost me an arm and a leg.:sad2:

Coming back on Sat 9/3 the cheapest flight is $160!! I realize that is a holiday weekend, but I didnt expect airfare to be this high this year....oh dear am I ever in a pickle :sad2:

We fly late Aug./early Sept. every summer from Upstate NY and the rates really don't bottom out until early summer. I know it is hard to wait, but they really do get waaaay down there. I'm talking $69-$89 for JetBlue and AirTran one-way. With the current price of fuel, they may not go that low, but I'm sure they will go down. The further you get into Labor Day weekend though, the prices will go back up a bit.

Do you really think $297 r/t is a lot though? It doesn't sound that bad to me.
