Wasting away again in Loserville-(all welcome to grab an adult beverage and come in)

I am glad someone is up. I have been up off and on since one, with acid reflux. Ugh not fun.

I will definetly be taking a nap today. I am glad my kids are older and I can do that. I remember days when they were little and my my husband works extremly long hours and most weekends and I was drop dead tired and chasing little ones. I don't know how I did it.

Yesterday I spent cleaning out my longaberger baskets. They were filled with so much crap. I also cleaned out my meds cabinet and had some prescriptions that expired in 2004. I can't remember if I posted that already LOL. Lack of sleep and all.

I am going to straighten up my dining room today. I don't actually clean anything but I organize stuff. Thats the most I can do. Actial cleaning is above my pay grade.

I hope everyone has a fantastic day.

hey evryone, off to work this am, check in later.

Morning Losers! Checking in...

Shoe shopping yesterday was successful...for me! I bought two new pair of sandals (one black/one brown), but since we were ACTUALLY shopping for DH the trip is considered a failure because he got nothing!

We each got a new bag/backpack for our trips this summer AND DD got to go to Toys R Us to spend her "Princess Credit Card" (a GC from her birthday), so we are now the proud owners of The Wonder Pets figurines and Flyboat (that lights up and sings!) I am so freaking happy...there's more junk for me to pick up!

So, here is my question...have any of you been to MNSSHP? I just noticed that one of the first ones will happen during our trip in Sept. and am curious as to if anyone is willing to share their thoughts/experiences. Sure, I could check the other boards here, but I would rather have the opinions of my friends...:lovestruc Anyway, DH said he would even consider ducking out of his work responsibilities that night for the party, SO that is a big deal! We did the Christmas party in Dec. and liked it, so just wondering if it compares favorably :confused3

Hugs to all...:grouphug:

Morning all.

I can't help you MNFBMom. Can you believe we've never been to WDW at all? 'Tis the sad, sad truth.

Turbo, I probably have enough trips that I could have shared a few! This will be my eighth (or ninth--the 80's are a bit fuzzy for me at times) BUT I have never been to Disneyland, so...:upsidedow DH travels to CA now for work, so I have been planting the idea for us to join him one time so that we can go, but it won't be this year. My vacation plate is overflowing!:cool1:

LOL, though last time I went to Disneyland was eight years ago, I have been there more times than I can count. I grew up in So Cal. I was potty trained at DL and my jr hs class trip went to DL. We used to buy tickets at DL hotel and take the monrail over to the park to avoid the crowds. (I don't know if they still allow that or not.)

We have been to MNSSHP twice, last year was our most recent. We went in September, too. It was a blast! We actually don't partake in all the festivities offered, we look at it as a great way to go on all our favorite rides without any lines. And, of course, the trick or treating. The tickets say the party starts at 7:00, which it does, but you can enter with that ticket any time after 4:00. Regular park guests stay until 6 when they start to herd them out. We are going to make this an annual trip for us, we can go on everything we want over and over again, it's like an entire day in the park. They also have the parade, which we saw many years ago, led by the headless horseman. Very cool, and the parade was fun, too. My family doesn't really like to stop for parades. And the candy. Everyone gets a small shopping bag, and I swear we came home with about 10 pounds of candy. There are numerous candy spots all over, and you can keep getting in line over and over again.

Lots of people dress in costume, we always wear matching t-shirts. Last time I got Jack Skellington t-shirts for all of us, the boys didn't want to wear costumes this year. They did the first time. The have a special fireworks for the party, too.

No snack stops like MVMCP, but just as much fun. I know they have other things like storytelling and more, we just aren't interested in that stuff, so I'm not sure.

I am thinking of September as our trip this year too. Last year the boys had 1/2 day off from school that day, so when I asked when I could take them out early and still count as present, they said, "10:30"!! So we could do that, make the drive and still get there by 4-5:00. This year that half day is in October, with higher rates, so I may take them out of school for that Friday in September.

If you have any questions, you can post or pm me, I will answer what I can. Well worth the price of admission, and my boys now 8 and 10 had no trouble staying up for both parties..they first one I think they were 5 and 7..

Thanks Queenie! We are seriously considering it. DD will only be 3.5, but she is a TROOPER when it comes to WDW (it's in her genes!) plus we also have the time change working for us (we used it to our advantage in Dec. too!)

If I think of any specific ??'s, I will let you know! Thanks again!:goodvibes

I have also been to MNSSHP twice as well. Had a blast both times. If you can get an ADR at The Liberty Tree for dinner. The characters dress up in costume and the food is pretty good too. The park is decorated and is playing theme music on Main Street. The whole ambiance changes. And when you trick or treat you get a ton of candy. Another good thing about the party is that you seem some characters you wouldn't normally. I am not sure who since I never go looking for characters though I on the theme park board they could probably tell you. I do know I am doing it for a third time this year.

Afternoon losers.
The kiddies let me and FE sleep in till 11am this morning. No, nothing was destroyed, they were all in DD's room watching cartoons.
Now I'm trying to catch up on everything, then need to do alittle cleaning

Back from a crazy morning....took some pictures of the kids before church, a couple actuall came out kinda good. I'll post a couple on the other side. I tried a new church today...closer to my house. Ran into a ton of people I know. I think I'm going to make the switch....the husband isn't so sure, because mass was 70 minutes...about 15 minutes longer than normal.

Unless there is only one priest it can totally depend on the priest, we have one that we are totally psyched when we see he is the celebrant bc we know we will be in and out and he is actually interesting in his homilies. I like short and to the point.:lmao:

As DD would say, "the stinky boys" (FE is included in that quote) have all left the house to go get FE's haircut and run to Hibbets (sporting goods store) to get a new glove for #1DS.
The girls are left at the house to enjoy the peace and quiet.
I thought DD would be upset being left out but I think she's happy cause she can play on the computer without her brothers bugging her

I'm not Catholic, but usually if we go to church (haven't in years) it's mass. I love seeing the people duck out right after the sermon, cheaters, cheaters....:rotfl:

That's why I love the Catholics, they have their ways...When my friend got married in this beautiful little Irish Catholic chapel, (on a Saturday at 3:00) the VERY Irish Catholic Priest announced that this was close enough to 5:00 in Ireland, so it counted for everyone and they didn't have to go to mass on Sunday..loved it!

Please don't take this the wrong way my Catholic friends...I mean no disrespect AT ALL...I'm Luthern we are almost "cousins"!

No offense taken, because what you say is true!:rotfl:

You can usually set your watch to mass!

You tell it like it is girlfriend:rotfl:

Actually, now that I think about it, they didn't duck out after the sermon, they walked up for communion, turned right, and there instead of turning right again to go back to their seats, they would continue straight out the door. Someone wasn't thinking when they put a door right there! My DH would go...."OK, watch this guy...zzzzzppp! out the door...there goes another one.........zzzppp! out the door"..:rotfl:
