Wasps!!

Is anyone else having very aggressive wasps lately?? I'm thinking with the weather getting cooler they are freaking out. They normally don't bother us but this year they are in your face kind of wasps.

Not wasp but yellow jackets are being annoying in our area.

This time of year, wasps/yellowjackets go into hyper mode collecting sugars for winter. This is the time of year you have to watch out for the wasp on the edge of the soda can so to speak.

This is when I like to put out a shallow bowl filled with Mountain Dew soda & some dish soap. The yellow jackets are attracted to the soda but with liquid dish soap in it it makes the solution "wetter" so they fall in & drown. I caught over a dozen in one day with this method.

I like the beautiful fall weather, but OP is right; the bees get very much in your face so to speak.

Water with some liquid dish soap also works if you're combing your pet with a flea comb & get a flea caught. I used to do what when our cat came home from the VET with fleas (she'd been there to be fixed); I'd keep hold of the comb, fur & flea & dip my hand in the soapy water. The flea couldn't hop out because the soap made the water "wetter" & he drowned. YAY!!
