Wasn't happy w Boardwalk last week

I was left our building and came back. Could not get into building, wristband wasn't working for me and 3 others to our building, so it wasn't just me!
What time was this? Had you formally checked out already. Once you're officially checked out of the room, often around or shortly 11 am, the bands are not going to get you into the room or building. If either is the case, you should not expect access through controlled options.

I was under the impression it was all still on their check in night. From what I've heard there can be issues with access if you haven't used the bands to enter the room. On the other hand I'm now about 50/50 with having room access issues with MBs at BWV. Last week was fine. End of Feb it took 3 trips to the front desk.

I wasn't sure and since it sounded like they had access at one point, I wondered if it was after check out.

Typically the outside doors are only locked late at night. I've been lucky, never had a magic band problem. I held my breath on my last trip, I got the text that my room was ready while I was on Magical Express. My boardwalk view was way at the end of the hall, I was glad that it opened! I didn't want to drag my luggage all the way back to the lobby (I picked up my own luggage since I was arriving mid-afternoon and had a dinner reservation for Candlelight Processional).

FWIW, I think that the front desk CM dripped the ball - why should we expect someone who hasn't stayed at the resort to know all the quirks? Yes, the OP could have asked the front desk CM for help with luggage, but IMO, it is up to the front desk to take care of the guest, especially if it is late.

steves100 - Sorry that happened to you. Kudos for letting the manager know and for not expecting compensation.

I'd much rather the managers tell me me they will fix the problem so it doesn't happen again or to someone else. Sometimes I think they are focused on placating rather than fixing/improving! Seems way too easy to just hand out compensation and forget about it. A good manager would be all over the Front Desk CM and Bell Services for not providing the appropriate service - hoping that's what happened after you complained.
Only issue I have stayed ther : ) just never stayed w a boardwalk view

Nope not checked out yet 9:30ish, the door wasn't working for anyone

AM? Had you cleared the room such that they were in cleaning already and could have checked you out based on that? It's just a little strange if they all were working and then none were. If it was that given door and others weren't working either, that happens but is aggravating.

Not sure if all the doors weren't working. 2 double doors both weren't, it wasn't my family w me it was someone else, 2 people to be exact, all of our bands didn't ok.

Oh BTW band work on our room door....

My 3 trips back in Feb? From the second to last room Boardwalk view room. :headache: A year or two ago? From my third to last standard view for a 12:30am late arrival with luggage - a trip back because the battery was dead. And shortly after the switch to MB's? 4th to last Boardwalk view - bands did not work. I hold my breath when trying to open my room door since the MDE came into existence.

That's very strange. The double doors going into that section? AFAIK they should have been unlocked by that time of day.

But, I had a strange thing happen Monday morning. Had seen my sister and niece off on ME and headed back to our 2BR lock-off. This would have been around 9:30 am also. My band only flashed red for the door into the 1BR section and would not unlock. Thankfully the studio door was not secured and I got green and was able to enter. About an hour later I was getting green again on the 1BR door.

If they worked on your room and bands from multiple rooms didn't work, it sounds like one of those things. Aggravating but not enough to get worked up over.

Think you're missing the issue, that was the last straw, the issue with the luggage was a much bigger issue.....

Was going to Cruise the day we had the door problem I was good with it, and I didn't ask for anything from the manager. Im just venting...

We weren't there, all we can do is consider the information presented as factually as possible. None of the issues as presented are factually major or worth complaining about but the specifics at the time are more the issues. You can vent but that doesn't really do any good. For this exact issue, even considering it as a part of the big picture is a bit much IMO.

Factually major??????

Im sorry, its always common for 2 adults and a 13 year old to wander around a DEAD resort at 11:30 with luggage! NO ONE around to help, in dress pants and a blazer sweating my @@@@ off. I took responsibility that I probably should have asked for help at the front desk. I hate that there is not way to contact the front desk any more with out going through someone who cant help you and isnt at that the resort. I could have gotten something from Boardwalk since the manger asked what I would like, I declined.

They asked because you complained, whether they agree with you we don't know but IMO it's not a validation of your complaints. All you shared is either minor or situational. Those are the facts. I've never heard of anyone getting lost finding their room at BWV and having to wander around. It's not a difficult resort to find your way around but it does have long hallways. It's not something they should have anticipated IMO. I've also never had a problem finding someone to help, my problem is usually getting them to leave me alone since I don't want them messing with my things. If it was important to you you should have specifically asked. The FD or concierge could have gotten someone if needed and were asked.

I got lost on our stay there a few years back. When I did find the room, the door wouldn't open with our card. Back to the desk (it was also late...after 11pm for sure) and there was nobody around at the desk and I had to stand there and wait for someone to come out of the back. This was after we had been promised a text with our room assignment when we check in at 7:30am (we went and park toured all day and came back to our room late that night). Never got a text. Door didn't work after trekking all over. Toilet was running all night in our room (but it was late so we dealt with it). It happens.

We're giving the resort another shot in 3 weeks.

Guess Dean only think it happens to me.....

My issue was it was a ghost town at 11:30, never have I seen this. There was no one at valet, no one at bell stand inside or out, just 1 person at the front desk.

Outside was dark and a lot of construction stuff, if there were signs with building numbers we would have been fine.

No, just it doesn't happen enough they should have anticipated it. You have posted nothing that on face value supports being upset. I've acknowledged that there are "you had to be there" situations and this very well may have been one of them, you were there an we weren't. If you take it as feeling your complaint is not valid, so be it, but my actual position is that we don't know if most people would/should have been upset in the circumstances you posted.

I've never had a first floor room at BWV, that's why it didn't make sense to me at first. I could see how it would be confusing for a first timer. You get off those elevators on the first floor, I'm not sure that there are signs saying you have to turn left and exit, go across the breezeway and re-enter to continue down the first floor. The front desk should have provided directions.
