Washington DC Hotels

We had booked The Madison, which is a Loews Hotel for $179/night through their website. It was for over spring break. We have since canceled because we are going to WDW in June instead! It is located near Dupont Circle and is a short walk to the Metro...but not ON the Metro. Good Luck and have fun!!

sorry-didnt read the whole thread so I hope I am not repeating. Try travelzoo.com We got the Hilton in Crystal City last summer for $89 per night--beautiful!!!! Marble baths, etc. About 4 blocks from the metro but they have a shuttle that will drop you off and you call when you get off the metro and they are there w/in 10 minutes. So we reccomend the hotel and mostly definately travelzoo for GREAT deals. PM if you need more info on either! Have a blast! We did!

Also didn't read the whole thread....
We went to DC last April...
Stayed at the Hampton Inn in Alexandria, VA. It's right across from Crystal City. Metro stop is about 2 blocks away. We had a suite room. It was very nice. Not sure of the price, but I'm sure it was reasonable or I wouldn't have stayed there. :)

My kids are begging to go back to DC. They LOVED it (they were 9 and almost 12 at the time)

We booked the Hilton Garden Inn in Arlington for $119/ night directly from the Hilton website. It's $107/night if you prepay. Parking is only $10/night. The hotel is next to the Arlington Courthouse, just across the parking lot from the main metro line that runs to the mall. There is also a free hotel shuttle that will take you anywhere within three miles of the hotel. This is the #2 rated Arlington hotel on TripAdvisor. You can read reviews there. Hope this helps.

You can usually get the Capital Hilton for $130 to $170 per night. It's close to the metro and the white house, etc. It has an amazing fitness center, too.

You really need to go on Priceline and try to get the Key Bridge Marriott in Rosslyn Virginia for about $70 per night. It's excellent. It is usually available at or near that price. Of course, you can't ask for it with bidding, but I believe it is a 3 or 4 star in Rosslyn. Any highly rated hotel in Rosslyn will be super convenient and extremely safe. Just keep on trying. Use biddingfortravel.com or betterbidding.com for advice.

Use priceline and use specific parameters.

I bid on priceline for Convention Center area only --knowing that three hotels that I coud possibly get and I was perfectly fine with all of the them.

We got for $65 a night during Cherry Blossom week at the Grand Hyatt! That Hyatt is gorgeous.

We got there and they overbooked the hotel. (It was Cherry Blossom night --there was a ball at the hotel that evening)

The staff was wonderful although my DH had to be a bit assertive. (Just a bit, because the staff didn't want a scene). We wound up in a room with a trundle for the kids, free parking for one night and free breakfast vouchers for the entire time.

always put people up there. It is a fantastic area of DC, ON the metro, fabulous restaurants and shopping, super safe, across the street from a wonderful movie theater and more. Do look into AAA discounts there. Susan
