Washington DC area (inc MD & VA) DISers

I know there's gotta be something else in the Mont. Mall, but I can't think at the moment.

there's a california pizza kitchen too, but not a lot else, food-wise.

I would definitely come down from Frederick. Never knew there were so many DISers in Frederick! I'd be up for Tysons/Montgomery County - DC's doable but I need a place to park my van where my mickey antenna topper will be safe. :rotfl:

Just tell me where and when and I'll be there.

We need a leader...I mean organizer :)

Oh yeah, and those of you who don't drive in DC are a bunch of wimps! I live on 23rd and M St. so I do it on a daily basis and it's really not all that bad!

Once you get lost there, you dont want the experience EVER again.

Just that- you need a babysitter?? Your daughter is adorable princess:

I am game- College Park Md. here... only if someone brings a single 21- 25 (or so) disney living guy  :teeth:

It's not the driving so much as getting rid of the car once I get there.

That's not bad either, you just have to get good at it. We happen to have a garage, but driving my daughter to school every morning means street parking. I definitely know it's a pain, but after you get used to it you don't even notice!

Just leave the keys in it and it will disappear in no time! ;)

I think I stumbled into that job when posting this thread. I tried to work on Snoopy, but she's not going for it. :rotfl:

Really, we'd just need to decide on a time and place and call for a ressie. Do you know if any of these places have a room that we could use or just the main dining room? You know, just in case we get a little loud. :teeth:

As far as bringing the kids, I'd say it's up to the individual. I probably won't have my family with because they are usually busy with various sports, etc on the weekend, not to mention the fact that I'd probably have more fun without them...Did I just really say that?

I think that Tysons would be a good central location--easy to get to, if you don't count mall traffic. Lots of parking so us parking challenged people don't get stressed ;) and a variety of restaurants to choose from. I'm vegetarian, but it's easy to find something for me to eat most anywhere these days.

The when--needs to be a weekend. Is a Saturday lunch better? Sunday late morning brunch? Sunday lunch? I'm game pretty much anytime--my DH can hold the fort down at home because if I try to work around my family's schedule I'll never be available.

The weekend is a MUSt for me. I'd love to suggest Cheesecake Factory, but they don't allow ressies - that I'm aware of. Does Maggiano's have ressies?

Thanks! I'd be careful about that babysitter comment though...we have yet to find a babysitter here in DC so you might be missing the meet to stay home with Madison!!

Hey, I got lost in SE once. Now that is something I never want to experience again!

Cheesecake Factory might take ressies for a larger party. I'm almost positive Maggiano's takes reservations.

Count me as one of those who would prefer a weekend - Saturday or Sunday lunch would be best, personally, but my schedule's flexible.

Here's another baby sitter for you!! Maybe it will inspire Dh.... :rotfl:

Weekends work for me too. Either day, but Sundays are better.

Either weekend day at either restaurant is great for me.

Sunday afternoons work for me.... like 1'ish or 2'ish

(saturday's are filled with running DD to work, going to gym, etc...)

Maggiano's definitely takes reservations. They have separate rooms for groups, but not sure how far ahead you have to reserve them or what the specifics are. My friend who had the rehersal dinner there is currently living in Bahrain, courtesy of her State Dept. job, so I cant' really ask her. From what I have experienced, Cheesecake does not take them even for large groups, but we haven't tried that in about 4-5 years so maybe they changed their policy. As far as Rainforest Cafe, we have a Safari Club card so no waiting in line with that!

Either weekend day is fine for me too, afternoons though preferably cause Madison goes to Gymboree Saturday mornings (and if you want to know about the fiasco going on with her missed classes, check out the Official New Mom Thread, last page). The only way I'll have to miss it is if we adopt a kid-free policy and my husband is on call, cause like I said, we don't have a babysitter here... But, he shouldn't be on call at all the month of October so if it's then I'm fine either way!
