Washington DC area (inc MD & VA) DISers

We will be there (2 Adults). Did we decided on a place?

No, we didn't decide on a place. A few places have been mentioned. I know that we want the Tyson's area. A restaurant that would have a room or area for us to hang out in would be good so we're not disturbing others. If people can throw out some names of places I can give them a call and see if they are possibilities.

An Italian restaurant was mentioned...don't remember the name and don't have time to look on the thread right now. Gordon Birsch and Coastal Flats were mentioned. What else is in the area that might be possible?

Dh and I have been to Gordon Birsch twice and the last time was awful! We went with my brother and as soon as we got home he filed a complaint on their website. I guess they are sending us gift cards, but I don't know if I would ever go back. The first time we went wasn't so bad, but not great! Just my .02!

Doesn't sound like such a great option, then. I wish that I knew that area more.

Coastal Flats doesn't take reservations (they are owned by the same family of restaurants as Sweet Water Tavern). Another option is Bertucci's. Its right across from the mall near the Best Buy. Or if anyone likes Mexican, there's an On The Border over there too. I know they can handle large groups.

november 20 works for me too. :) it'll just be me.

I think it will be me and Madison, so I guess just I would count since she's only 19 months. I'm trying to get my husband to come, but he has an interview in NYC on the 21st so it depends on what time he leaves.

There's also The Cheesecake Factory at Tysons II, and I haven't had a bad meal there yet!

OOPs! This was already mentioned.

Bumping this back up so we can see who else is interested... Nov 20th, Tysons Corner area.

Oh, T&B, we were at Tyson's yesterday and ate at Slade's, which has decent food and is not badly priced. The only thing I noticed is that they have a lot of booths, but they do have a row of tables in the back of the restaurant, all in a row. So I guess it depends on how many people we have coming, but that might work. I suggest them cause they're sorta out of the way in the mall so they don't usually have the big crowds that a lot of the other restaurants get (for example, California Pizza Kitchen had about 20 people waiting when we got to the mall, but we waited maybe 3 minutes for a table to be set up for us at Slade's, and that's just cause Madison was sleeping and so we needed a table not a booth to roll the stroller to). So I'm guessing they wouldn't mind us lingering awhile since they probably won't have the big demand the other places get.
