We haven't even left for Disney yet and DH and I started talking about where to take our spring vation next year, over the weekend. We haven't been to D.C. in 6 or 7 years and he's dying to go back. We both love this city but I want ot go somewhere we've never been. We've been to D.C. at least 4 times and I would like to go to San Deigo to see the Zoo, Wildlife Park and Navel base. He didn't seem too enthused about my idea. (I think he really has his mind made up for D.C.) but I thought if I start my research now to show him how much fun the SD trip could be, I might be able to swing his to my side. Of course I could alway compromise with the idea we go half way and desend on Dan in Chicago (just kidding, Dan). Which city would you choose and why?

I LOVE D.C., but would choose SD this time around because you've taken several DC trips, DC is so close to Boston it will easily be done again in the future.

San Diego.. the beach, the weather, the Zoo..LEGOLAND.. and you aren't very far from DL and DCA....

We really enjoyed San Diego. The zoo is wonderful and we also enjoyed Old Town San Diego. You can't beat the weather and the kids had a good time at Legoland. We stayed up in Carlsbad and took the train downtown.

We live outside DC, so can go whenever we want.

Could those of you who live in or have been to San Deigo tell me about the weather. We were thinking of going the end of April wherever we go as I have never been away for my birthday.

I used to live in San Diego. It's usually beautiful all year round. April should certainly be a gorgeous time to go, weatherwise.

I wouldn't even consider going to DC over San Diego. I mean, it's a nice city and all, but there's much more of a variety of things to do in San Diego, IMO (and I've been to DC plenty of times).

San Diego has the beaches, lots of golf, the Zoo, Sea World, the Wild Animal Park, Old Town (which is rich in history - it's the site of one of the original missions), Coronado (with the beautiful Hotel Del), the Gaslamp Quarter, Seaport Village, La Jolla, several Naval bases, the Scripps Institute Aquarium...I could go on and on. It's also pretty close to Disneyland and LA (easy day trips). Catalina Island could even be a day trip, as could a trip to Tijuana.

I miss it terribly, and I'd jump at the chance to go again! Being from Boston, it'd be a lot easier for you to take a weekend trip to DC. Save the big trip for San Diego! Have I convinced you? :hyper:
