I have gone to 2 differnt Wal-marts plus my local grocery store. I have not been able to find the dish cloths that have the soap already in them that are disposable. Has anyone seen these recently?

I wash out a used up bottle of hand-sanitizer (the really small purse size kind) and fill it with dishwashing detergent, and I take old thin dishcloths. I throw away both when I'm done. MUCH cheaper than the pre-packaged cloths you are looking for.

Our local Wal-Marts didn't have them either. But our regular grocery store did....but they were EXPENSIVE. So I'm skipping them. But I may do what the previous poster said and just take a small bottle.

I bring dishwasher detergent along in a small 4 oz. Tupperware container. I then put it in a ziplock bag for extra protection. This has worked great for the past three trips travelling with a toddler -- the detergent comes in handy for washing toys (that gets chewed upon), toddler utencils, and sippie cups.

And I thought I was the only weirdo who packed a special bottle of dishwashing soap for cups....whatever! How nice to not be alone!

When DGS ws younger I bought the disposable sippy cups from First steps (I think). Pkg of 5 for around $2-$3.

I always brought a bottle brush with most of the handle the handle cut off, and a small bottle of dishwashing liquid. The brush worked better to get the milk residue out of the valves and the bottom of the cup. I just filled a travel-size shampoo bottle with the dishwashing liquid; you can get 4-oz empty bottles for under $1 at beauty supply stores.

If you cut down a wire bottle brush, use small pliers to twist down the cut end of the wire, so you don't cut yourself while using it.

A trick I always used for in-between rinses was to take the valve out and drop it into the cup with a little liquid soap, then fill the cup halfway, close it, put my finger over the spout, and shake vigorously; then take off the top and rinse the whole thing out. The loose valve inside acted as an agitator, causing the soap to foam up nicely and get most of the milk dregs out. This kept the cups from getting rancid before I could get back to the room to clean them properly.

I would go the disposable cup route instead of taking soap. WalMart sells a 6 pack of disposable with sippy lids or you can get cups with lids and straws. I keep these in my car for emergency when I need them. They are great and I can toss them when done. :flower:

Try having your little one getting used to straws. Ours switched to straws early and loved them. I always bring some.

My 6 y/o DD still has to have her morning chocolate milk in a sippy cup so we bring a tiny bottle of dishsoap along with her sippy cup.

I do the dishwashing liquid in a bottle. But I go one step further. I take antibacterial dish soap, and put it in a small 2 oz, pump bottle. Then I use it for dishes and hands. No messy bars of soap to deal with. And for your hands, you only need a very small amount. It is more concentrated than softsoap. I also take a dish scubber?? :confused3, it is about 3x4. I get them at the dollar store, 12 to a pack. It lasts way past the lenghth of the trip, but I just throw it out at the end. No need to worry about something wet in the suitcase. Then when I get home, I refill the pump, and it is ready for next trip. I do have some of the disposable soap cloths, that I picked up for travel, but didn't care for them. I like my small pump, and scrubber.

I just take a bottle brush and a very small container (from the travel size section) with dish soap in a ziploc bag.

I bought my dish soap wipes several months ago at Target in anticipation of the October trip. Not sure what I'll be washing with them, but you never know! :rotfl: Now I see Target doesn't seem to be stocking them anymore!

BUT I did see some generic ones at Dollar Tree that I am sure would be fine for sippy cups, toddler spoons, etc.

I found them with the sponges rather than the dish soap if that helps. I also find that even though they are pricey they are pretty big and very soapy. I only use them for traveling and I cut them into 4ths. Then I use a ziplock for the one in use and to store the dry ones.

Having had a leak with a bottle of dishsoap, (inside a ziplock) I now prefer the presoaped sponges for traveling. I will check the dollar store next time and maybe save some $$ as well!

I just bring a travel size dish soap and a roll of paper towels. Costs less than $2. Plus it comes in handy to wash things like souveneir cups, certain toys, little hands, etc. We can't use the disposable cups b/c DS#2 throws them and they always break. Another reason why we MUST use spill proof cups.

Mrs. Ambassador used to carry a small soap container, dish towels, bottle brush, and a collapsible bottle rack for complete drying. It made my work easier.

Big Lots have a travel pack with 4 Palmolive dish wipes in them...they were located down low on the shelf by the sponzes. I only paid 49 cents for a pack. If you can't find them, pm me and I'll check my store again. If they have them, I can send you some.

Thank you so much for the offer. I finally found some at my mom's grocery store in the clearance mark downs. I wonder if they stopped making them.

We always take a bottle brush with a soap reservoir in the handle. Although we're out of sippy cups and bottles ~sigh~ we still use it for refillable mugs or whatever else needs to be washed!

my fave bottle for the soap is the little nalgene bottles from the container store. they *never* ever leak. there are ones with squirt spout and with just a plain screw lid.
