I haven't said anything about this yet but I couldn't imagine an animal in my bed. My own mother lets her dog and cat sleep in her bed and I can't believe it because she is an absolute clean freak. Like border line crazy clean freak, but she lets her pets in her bed with her. She loves animals though, me not so much. I will not pet or touch any animal, maybe a really cute puppy I might give a little pat but if I go to someones house I hate when thier pets come near me and there is no well in H*&* i'm going to pet it. My mom gets mad because I won't let her bring her dog into my house. My kids have begged for a dog for years, I tell them it's just never going to happen. I just couldn't imagine having an animal live in my house at all let alone on or in my bed. Yes I know I'm in the minority and tons of people have pets but the thought of pet hair in my house makes me crazy. I also really hate the smell of dogs. The funny thing is I grew up with pets and my mom being such a clean freak I know in theory they can co-exist in harmony with a clean home but I could never get my head around actually having an animal in my home, thankfully my DH agrees with me for the mostpart, so my poor kids are out of luck until they move out and get their own pets:laughing:

I know there are people that feel like you do but not in our house...we are the exact opposite! I would rather be around animals rather than most people.

We were never allowed to have pets growing up so me and all my siblings all have an insane number of pets to make up for it I think.

It's amazing the amount of cat hair that gets sucked into the vacuum on a daily basis.

Tell me about it.....I have concrete floors and rugs and I have to vacuum and sweep the floors every day....I should do it twice a day, but there's just no time for that. We have 4 cats and 3 good sized furry dogs...so there is a lot of hair in my house.

Honestly I don't love the pet hair everywhere, but I love the pets and I wouldn't have it any other way. :goodvibes

So.....I just thought about something...

Dh said in Iraq, the laundry service there doesn't use soap. He said his clothes and sheets were sometimes more dirty than when he turned them in.

Compared to that.....Animal hair would really the least of his worries.

So why do you bother to change your clothes?

Because I am a girl and don't like to wear the same thing every day...duh. But Honestly...I will wear a hoodie for awhile before I wash it and I will come home from work and put on the same pair of sweat pants for at least a week or so...so I will wear clothes a few times before I wash them...especially jeans. No...I don't wear clothes a month without washing them...but the same hoodie for 2 weeks wouldn't bother me a bit...but I would probably get bored of it since I have so many to choose from.

Here's a picture to gross out you non animal in the bed people...we need a bigger bed...

I'm highly impressed that your kitties and dogs will get up there together. Our different species don't exactly get along. :lmao:

Why does anyone really care about this? I don't care if you change your sheets daily or monthly - it doesn't affect me.

I try to get ours done once a week or so with pillow cases done more often. I bathe before going to bed.

I also tend to wash the same sheets and then put them back on the bed. I don't mind washing and drying sheets but I hate to fold them!

I'm the OP, and I never meant it to become an "OMG you are so dirty" type of thread, seriously! I just have been realizing lately I haven't been washing my sheets as often as I need to, and want to resolve in the new year to be more clean with my sheets, and wanted to find out honestly how often people do their sheets.

We have one dog that is afraid of the cats and they steer clear of him since he growls at them, but the other cats and dogs have all grown up together and do fine with one another. The dogs will chase strange cats if they see them outside, but they leave our cats alone.

I am trying to find a picture with my DH on the bed because he will have 2 or 3 cats sitting on or very close to him and 2 big dogs on the bed too...it's hysterical. They get mad when I come in there and push them off so there is room for me! :rotfl:

No worries.....I think some people are just a little touchy....and I don't care if people think I'm gross because I don't wash my sheets as often as they do. :confused3

I drink out of the milk jug....that's gross...but we do it!! ;)

Outerwear is one thing but clothes that are close to your body are the same as sheets. Persipration and dead skin all build up and make them dirty. I don't have an issue with your animals but they would make your bedding dirtier over that month that you leave them on your bed.

Most people who know me think I'm a clean freak. Ha! However, I will come clean (haha, get it?) on the disboards - I don't wash my sheets very often. And to make matters worse, I like my pillow cases to be very soft and, er, "used." Think I'm gross and want to lecture me about the things that might be accumulating on my sheets? I don't care. I like my things just the way they are :)

OMG $600+ billion and they can't afford LAUNDRY DETERGENT?? :confused3 :lmao: Maybe we should have been clipping our detergent coupons and sending them to the DOD. :lmao:

That's why the top blanket that they sleep on gets washed at a minimum every two weeks....but they aren't on my sheets.

I wash all the blankets on the couch and their dog bed blankets pretty much every week....and usually get to the sheets on the bed every 3-4 weeks....doesn't bother me...doesn't bother DH....so it's all good and once again...your opinion is just that...your opinion and has no bearing on how I live my life. :thumbsup2

In all fairness...The laundry service, just like the barber...Are not American run opperations.

But it was a little ridiculous to me. When you have THOUSANDS of people in
120+ degree weather in FULL sleeves and pants(for the most part), not to mention the dust and the sand...you would THINK they would use some freakin soap! :lmao:

The first thing DH did when he got home was put on clean clothes...I have NEVER seen him so BLISSFUL!:rotfl:

Again you can justify it to yourself but it is still gross not to change your bed sheets for a month.

Just don't admit that you've let it slide a little. You might gross some people out.

:rotfl:

Our sheets and pillow cases get changed weekly. I've done it that way since the beginning of time.;)

OK, ya'll did it! I just went and stripped the bed and but the comforter, sheets and pillowcases in the washer!

When did I do it last? The first of December. So THERE! :rotfl:

I try for every week but sometimes it just keeps getting put off.
