We all have sensative skin, so i always take my own washing powder and softener with me as i have never found a powder over there that agrees with my skin. Not a lot of help i know but after trying a few i'd rather save money by bringing my own as what works for someone else won't necessarily work for you, and think of the extra room in your case for taking your bargains home as you'll have extra room after using all your own stuff
I agree with all the responses, the small tablets take up little room in your suitcase and you have a product you are familiar with.
Like Mandy, we use 'Fairy'
Another vote for taking your own. We take fairy in the gel packs with us as I once had a severe reaction to so called 'sensitive' powder bought out there. I was burning up and turning a peculiar colour in MK. when we asked for help from a cast member they were fantastic, Not only did they take me to the first aid but when we worked out what it could be they brought me a T shirt to swop for my own. great freebie t shirt but not how I'd like to get one.
If you happen to find yourself in Florida without the washing powder that you brought from home, you could pop into any grocery store, or walgreen, etc and look in the baby aisle. That's where you'll find the laundry detergent for sensitive skin.
We generally buy a box of Tide at Walmart. Last trip our Canadian friend was staying with us and said she boycotts Tide. Not sure why now, might be due to animal testing? Really cannot remember her explanation. Anyone know about this?
Sorry, not much help with the original question, but still about soap powder!
On both visit to WDW, staying in a villa I took my own non-bio Persil tablets & they worked fine. Youngest DS has sensitive skin & it didn't seem worth causing a reaction by using something different. Didn't bother with fabric cond.
Bringing home cases full of clean clothes is great especially when all you want to do is sleep when you get home.
Same amount as at home.2 for a full load ,1 for half.We always opt for a cooler wash aswell,American washers can be a bit keen,i don't know if its the water or the temperature but be carefull if you are washing anything of value.
And definately take your own tablets the local stuff does,nt seem to be up to much.I'm sure its just what we are used to though.
thanks,
i always seem to be washing! and i usually buy the u.s. powder, but i find it doesnt seem to wash as well, so this year i was thinking of using the uk tabs or gel.
Another vote here for taking your own. We took the persil tablets and I used 2 per wash, crumbling them up a bit over the clothes I had put in the washer. Didn't bother with fabric conditioner in the washer but took a pack of tumble dryer sheets so things came out soft and less creased. I then just folded them straight up - most items didnt need ironing if you folded them as soon as you took them out the dryer
Have just noticed in Tesco's this morning that they have a special offer on Comfort Pure Capsules, in a small box, thought they might be handy to take to Florida

In reading your reply about not washing as well, Florida has what we call Hard Water so it does not suds/soap as well as other places here. My children have sensitive skin as well. We use Liquid Gain and the baby isle has wonderful soap as suggested, the Ivory Soap is pure and the Dreft as well. Have a great trip.
