How busy are the laundry rooms at OKW for people who stay in studios?

Are there better times than others to go and get a machine? Or are they generally available?

It has been awhile since I stayed in the studio and ued the washers, but I don't remember them being overly busy when we used then in the mornings.

I would think that during the day would be the best time. I never noticed them being too busy when I have been using the small pools. Keep in mind all the other units have washers so it is only the studios. It would take some bad luck to have them crowded at any given time.

We stayed mid July 2003. I did laundry two different times both being in the late afternoon (5 - 6 PM) I was the only one both times. I was even able to do two loads at once to save time. The kids were taking a nap with my husband. I brought a magazine, bought a cold soda and sat out by the pool reading while the laundry was being done. Very simple and relaxing. Now had I been home I would have been cleaning, cooking at the same time.

We stayed in a studio the last two times we went. We found the machines to be the busiest on Thursdays. And that the main pool machines are busier then the rest. My advice would be to avoid doing laundry on Thursdays. It also seems that the machine use coincides with the weather. Nice days bring people to the pool and therefore they kill two birds with one stone by doing laundry also. Just something to keep in mind.

Ok, that's good to know. I'm glad that it won't be a case of having to work aorund laundry on a vacation day.

Another question. Are the laundry rooms open 24 hours a day?

Wow! that is a good question-opened 24 per day. I would guess yes, but can not swear to it. I don't know if you would want to be at one of the pool areas at 2 o'clock in the morning, good question, never heard that before.

yes they are open 24 hours - after 11Pm you will need your key - which may not work - you can call security from the phone on the outside wall.

the busiest time I have found is Friday morning when all of the resort is checking out - if you intent to wash before you leave - go early and I mean early - I got there at 6:00am - but the time I left at 8:00am (there were a couple of people waiting) -

I don't like the new dryer - they take much longer than the old ones - the new washer take close to the same amount of time - 40 minutes from start to finish - the old ones took 35.

the old dryer took 35 minutes too - these new ones - well I left my clothes in there for a good 75 minutes and the dryer was still trying to dry them.....they were very, very dry....
