Was told NO to discount today...

Staying at WIlderness Lodge 2 BR Villa 11/10 - 11/18. Months renting points, not DVC member. Just have a large party ; 4 adults, 4 children, 1 infant) on reservation. Called today about Free Dining.

- said I could not apply free dining or room discount to my reservation.

- I could use if I had a 1 BR Villa, but non are available at WL or the Beach Club.

- they said I could split my reservation into 2 and get 2 deluxe villas at the Beach Club and be eligible for free dining.

I am absolutely dumbfounded that the free dining cannot be applied to my current reservation.

We have 7 day park hoppers. 7 night stay, and staying at an eligible resort the Wilderness Lodge. I am not DVC nor am I using points.

I had to be transferred to another cast member cause the initial person I had did not know how to lollipop discounts after being on the phone with them for 20 minutes....

What can I Do? Any ideas?

They only allot a certain number of rooms at each resort in each category for the discounts. Some resorts get very little inventory that the discount can be applied to. They have already told you the room you have booked is not available under the discount. There is nothing you can do except change room type or change resorts like they suggested. There is no special magic than can make your room qualify for the free dining. If getting free food for 9 ppl is a big money saver and important to you then you are going to have to change rooms or change resorts.

Unfortunately, this is the risk people take when they make resort reservations before discounts are released. The more rooms that are booked early, the less rooms Disney has to open up for discounts. A lot of people then find that the room they've had booked for months is not available for a discount and they have to decide either to go with no discount or switch room type or resort.

Not saying it's right or wrong to book early, I understand why people do it, but it doesn't guarantee a discount.

Sorry you weren't able to get a discount for your room. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

If you look at the offer on the website it directly states there are a limited number of rooms available.

I was in the same boat as you, but had a 1 bedroom at BLT. No discounts! We opted to move to BWV 1 bedroom and take the 30% discount. I figured for us it would be cheaper. We saved $1460 and I feel pretty good about it.

Also, your check in date excludes you from it. If you were willing to switch to a Nov 11 check in, maybe there will be options.

It's within the discount period but subject to availability. Not every room is eligible for the discount for every date. The OP called and they were told it was not available for VWL for their date.

DVC resorts are eligible for free dining or % discounts if booked through CRO. The OP's first post is confusing but I think it was a CRO reservation.

Same here...

Had a 1 bed wlv booked no discount and moved to a split stay 1 bed bcv for 5 nights and 2 nights in a wlv studio. Saved a ton with the 30%.

to be honest we were on the site and calling all day for a week and never saw a 2 bed villa offered at any resort with fd or a ro discount. You are searching for a unicorn!
