Was this rude? What would you have done?

What would you have done?

  • Left right away to get dogs

  • Finished my shopping just like he did

  • Finished checking out only if I was next in line

The dogs got out from his house a few blocks away. The yellow lab wasn't even his...he watching it for a friend...said the yellow lab was a trouble maker and has gotten out several times. Seems to me he should rethink where he's keeping the dogs!

It WAS thirty minutes...I still have the calls on my cell. I first called at 6:13pm...called again at 6:46pm and then he finally showed up a bit after 7pm. So no, I'm not embellishing the time...it really was that long unfortunately.

If it would have been me with a basket full of perishables and a stranger called to say they had my dogs, yes, I would have left them. My dogs are much more important to me than groceries. :)

I would have come immediately and groveled at your feet for being so good to my obnoxious dogs, acknowledging the whole time that it was completely my fault. I would have insisted that you accept a check as a reward and for repairing/cleaning any damage they caused. And I would have thanked God for people like you who do the difficult thing and not the easy thing of just walking into your house and doing nothing. If that guy didn't thank you enough.....

On behalf of lost dogs everywhere, thank you!!:wave2:

My dog got out last year after Thanksgiving when we were getting stuff out of the attic in the garage. He did not have a collar on because of a skin infection that was being treated.

When I finally found him - quite a distance away for an 11 year old deaf dog) - I groveled big time and gave the guy who took him in cash - a nice reward as I was so grateful.
