We ate at the CP for lunch on Saturday the 5th our service was fine we was well taken care of an the characters all came around at least once. Tigger snuck up on my DD an leaned on her shoulder for a min an surprised her.

Our complaint was the FOOD I never did find anything I really liked. I tried almost everything on the buffet did not walk away hungry but I'd never found anything I even cared to take more than a couple of bites of. FOOD MUCH TO SPICEY for us. Even the desserts left much to be desired an there again I tried most everything but nothing that I wanted to eat more than a couple of bites of.

We should have been more than ready for a good meal after eating fast food all week from the CS.

We did eat at Planet Hollywood on New Years Eve before starting our disney stay on New years Day we all really enjoyed our food there an got excellent service with only about a 15 min wait at 7 pm on New Years Eve not bad at all. Service was very good food good yeah its a noisy place but we knew that going in.

We love the food at CP! My husband will not eat spicy food so hard to believe it was that bad (maybe some dishes). I guess that is why there are so many restaurants; we all have our own tastes! Sorry you were disappointed!!

Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your Crystal Palace lunch.

Crystal Palace has one of our favorite breakfasts anywhere! I considered trying lunch or dinner on our next trip, but we love the breakfast so much, we don't want to give it up. If you consider giving it another chance, try breakfast :thumbsup2

Wow, that's too bad! Our CP lunch in mid-December was soooo good - right down to the desserts! And my 22mo DS couldn't get enough of the kids' green beans.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your meal. We were at CP on the 2nd for a late lunch that ran over to the beginning of dinner. All four of us, two adults, kids 10 and 13, loved the food. We found something for everyone. The salmon and herb roasted turkey were yummy. We loved all the different salads too. On such a cold day the warm apple crumble hit the spot for dessert.

Service and character time was good too. This is our second trip to CP and my family considers it a must do while at MK.

M.A.

Ditto, ditto, ditto to the above....we love CP, however it's not for everyone. Sorry to hear you didn't have good luck with it.

We went for lunch last year and I wasn't blown away either. I found a few things to eat, but not much. I am a pretty basic eater (don't like a lot of weird spices or add-ons to my food) and I had trouble there.

This year, we are trying dinner to see if it is any better.

We've got to see Pooh and friends, so we are taking a chance!

My family and I did dinner at CP last year and we all just loved it! We'll definately be back for dinner again. So I guess the breakfast and dinner is pretty good but no so for the lunch?

We went to CP the last night of our vacation last December and were quite pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Honestly, we weren't expecting much -- I figured the food would be pretty bland and kiddie. We were mainly going for the Pooh characters. But, both my wife and I really enjoyed the food and were glad there were many dishes with strong flavors and even a few with a little heat.

We are definitely going to give CP another try on an upcoming trip, and hope that we will have a positive experience again!

I'm a basic eater too. Example - I don't like garlic or spices added to my mashed potatoes - just do them the old fashioned way please.

The dinner at CP also has alot of unusual foods, but that said, it was a good time and I did find enough to eat to be satisfied.:)

For basic eaters, I think LTT and Garden Grill are better choices for character meals. They are both much simpler fare.

We LOVE CP for any meal. We've had some trips where we ate there twice, once for dinner and once for breakfast. We do breakfast more often so we can get in before park opening which is a added perk to the great food and characters!

Dyna,

We ate there in early December, and I enjoyed it, but my mom and dad felt the same way you did. They are very sensative to spices and did not enjoy the spiciness of all the food.

we did lunch and I am the picky one, and I did fine eating there. Dh also liked CP they did have spicer stuff which is more up his alley. I thought this was one of the places that had something for both of us.

We had dinner there on Jan. 3 and loved it. We have been to Disney so many times and have never eaten there and we have already added it to our list of favorite Disney restaurants. BTW: does anyone know where I can find the recipe for the tropical slaw. I am going to a tropical themed party in a few weeks and it would be perfect for me to take. If you have any other tropical food ideas or recipes, just send me a PM. Thanks so much!

I am sorry you didn't enjoy the CP. We ate there for lunch last week and I don't even remember a single thing to be spicy, but I am an adventurous eater. Maybe Liberty Tree Tavern would be more up your alley. It was the blandest meal of our entire trip.

Have you checked the official Disney recipe exchange thread? You might find it there.

We have eaten CP twice - once for breakfast and once for lunch. Both times we thought the atmosphere and character interaction was outstanding. As far as the food, we thought the breakfast was excellent and the lunch was just ok. The lunch food was not memorable but the breakfast was.

JMHO! :goodvibes

Which characters are at lunch or do they vary from day to day?

Well, it has been a few years since we ate there, but at that time it was Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore. They were great! One of the things I loved was that they really gave attention to the adults in our party as well as the kiddos. Both times we were with my MIL and FIL who were in their late 70s at the time and they were so great with them. We were also at breakfast for DDs 7th bday and it was absolutely wonderful. :thumbsup2
