Just got back. I have to say I was a little nervous about fp+ but I really enjoyed it. We stayed on property and it was extremely flexible. I will admit that we did take advantage of the glitch that let you book more than one tier 1 attraction so that helped. Here's the bottom line- if you get to the parks at opening you will be able to ride every ride you want and sometimes multiple times. Even on a Saturday morning we got on space mountain AND ran over to big thunder and walked right on. Around 3 you are ready for a break and then we headed back out in the evening when the lines went down again.

I thought the CM were great for the most part. I didn't find one that was rude at all. Some more friendly than others but none were mean or rude. I really feel for these workers bc this job would be hard to deal with all of us all day! :)

We did memory maker and it ended up being a waste for us. Our kids are pre teen so they were not interested in characters so we didn't get the value from it. We do have 1001 ride pics tho!

I do hope they do something about park hopping and Fp+. If they allowed for that I think it would have been really really great.

Hope this post helps those who are headed to WDW soon!!

Did you schedule your FP+ for mornings, afternoons or evenings or a mix? If evenings, how were the FP+ lines? I just changed a lot of my FP for evenings, but am concerned that the FP+ return lines will be crazy considering it will be spring break. TIA

Glad it went well! It seems going early is still the way to go if one wants get in the rides they want. Sounds like you maximized your experience. :thumbsup2

We went last week which is a slow time so spring break could have a very different feel to it. However, the fp+ lines were minimal.

We did a mix of fastpasses - mostly afternoon and evening. We also followed the recommended parks from easy WDW- it really helped. If you want to ride as many rides as possible it is vital that you go to every park at rope drop! We still rode more rides than we have ever on a Disney vacations!! In fact, we didn't need any fastpasses at AK so we just changed them for another park for the evening.

Glad you had a god trip! Can you remind me of the glitch??

A couple of weeks ago if you went in and made changes to your fast pass selections it would allow you to select another tier 1 ride at both Epcot and HS. For example, say I selected TT, the land and spaceship earth for my Epcot fastpasses, the app had a glitch where I could select the land and change it to soarin. They have since fixed the glitch. :(

See that's what I'm wondering after reading all the negative comments on the FP+ system. Are people actually getting up and hitting the parks the minute they open? This had always been our strategy and like yourself we could sometimes ride multiple rides. And we were usually done with the parks by 1-2 in the afternoon!!

That seems to be the strategy if you want to maximize rides. In fact, we didn't get to the MK on Saturday of all days until 9:30 ish and still walked on space and big thunder!

This has always been the strategy and FP+ does nothing to change it. Say you want to ride TT and Soarin' on the same day. Your options are:

  • Arrive at RD and ride one immediately and then rush over to the other, (or save the other for later in the day when you have a FP+ reservation); or
  • Arrive at 10:30 with a FP+ reservation for one of the rides and a 90 minute SB line for the other?

If you arrive at DHS at 10:30, TSM will have a 70+ minute wait, RnR will be an hour and ToT will be close to that. You can have a FP+ for two of the three. The third ride will require a long SB wait. Or you can arrive when the park opens and knock off all three rides in the first hour without burning a FP. Which is the more attractive option? FP+ works as a touring strategy, but arriving early works even better.

Glad you had a good trip. :)

Cue someone coming here and calling you a "Disney Apologist", " deluded" or "sucker", lol.:goodvibes:lmao:
