Was my FB hacked? What did I do?

I've had FB for 15 years now, never had a violation until now, I think. A few hours ago I was notified that my account 's been suspended, and I clicked "disagree." FB won't tell me what I did. It's been years since I've posted anything controversial. (Sp) The worst I can think of is somebody reported my account because I laughed at a meme making fun of the actress playing Ariel in the upcoming live action Little Mermaid. FB says they may get back to me in a day or so. Sigh!!! I'm not losing any sleep over this, I'm just wondering what I did.

For some friends of mine, they have been going back years and suspending them for stuff posted 5-10 years ago. This may have been what happened to you. They may or may not tell you what your violation was but it does not have to be recent.

Oh good grief!

If you don't see any posts on your account that you didn't put there, then I wouldn't consider you got hacked. FB and probably all social media sites run programs to search out objectionable posts (however they choose to define that). They might have changed some algorithm that found something you previously posted objectionable.

Probably this - but just so it is crystal clear, there is no "they" when it comes to Facebook. You cannot contact anyone there, either through phone or email. I know this because I got hacked. The hacker changed my password, then set up 2 factor authentication. I went through all the steps to get the account back and block the hacker, but I still can't get in because I can't get past the 2 factor that the hacker set up. The best I could do is change the password and lock the account. I started setting up a second account, this time with 2 factor of my own, then thought better of it. Facebook could fix this - they just won't. Why am I going to the trouble?

If you didn't do anything wrong, don't lose sleep. Shut down your account and walk away. Best thing I ever did.
