At our staff meeting, one of the men was talking about the dress code and said that every Monday, the two women (both in their 40's) dress was to be pink bikinis.
If it was meant as a joke (not a very good one, BTW) and taken as a joke by everyone, then it's fine. If it made people uncomfortable, someone should probably tell him so.
I suppose a joke, salacious though it is. Certainly not appropriate. This type of behavior does come from the acceptability of the day-to-day demeaning of women in our society, sad as it is.
Oh *sigh*. It goes on everywhere. It's wrong everywhere. I don't understand why people think it's okay everywhere but work. I see it here. I see it on TV and in the movies. I see it by my so called friends IRL (I loose quite a bit or respect for them then). People think it's a riot. I can completely understand why people don't know which way is up.

It is true that this goes on everywhere, but if I don't like the TV show I can change the channel, I can walk out of a movie, and I can get new friends. But I have to work, I can't leave a job every time something like this happens.
