Was I the only one disappointed....

Hey there - did Disney have a hand in this show - I'll bet they insisted on some editing at the very least.

I thought you did a great job whether I agreed with all of the tips or not. Everyone has their own strategy that works for them and their family and situation. I liked the way they targeted folks with young kids, teenage kids, single girls, and a couple without kids (that's me and my DH). I didn't really jive, however, with the couple w/o kids and their strategy. Buying tickets at the gate, getting up at nearly 9 a.m. for a spa visit THEN going to Epcot - I would do it the other way around. I also was aching for an emphasis on world showcase - which is one of our favorites.

We start in Adventureland too by the way -

TigrLvsPooh,

Were you the lady that had dark hair and two kids? I was trying to figure out who was from the Disboards but I didn't hear any mention of it, so I am only making a guess (from the types of things you were saying).

Anyway, I thought it was pretty good and that it did a good job showing different plans of attack (more leisurely: the newlywed couple all the way to very regimented: the family led by the dad).

Ok, I'll be the first to admit that this wasn't my favorite all-time WDW show, but I think it is possible that we are all being a little hard on the travel channel. They had to cover 4 entirely different types of WDW vacations in less than an hour. I don't know about the rest of you, but it has taken me MONTHS to get ready for our upcoming trip. I don't know how they could have done it better in the limited time they had. They did get in the biggest advice that I read about here over and over.....You can't do it all & Plan ahead, plan ahead, plan ahead!

For what it is worth, I did come out of it with a few good ideas (the typed itinerary for each person) and got to see some things that we will probably never do (like the spa and boats on lagoon). I also saw some things that I know I will avoid if I can (sleeping until 8:50?!?! What was THAT about?). In the end, I think that each of the families showed that it is possible to have a great time at WDW no matter how you approach it.

Ericka, I have two boys about the same ages as yours. I want you to know that you are an inspiration. I'm going to endeavor to maintain a relaxed demeanor and let the kids have a great time without trying to 'do it all'. I'm already trying to prep my husband for letting the boys playing in the fountains and playgrounds if that's what they want to do without freaking because we haven't ridden Dumbo yet and the FastPasses are running out.

I only had one BIG problem with the show.

I AM THE BIGGEST FAN!

Other than that I think it was fine. Yes, some things seemed a little "easy" but who wants to show the hard part of it on a TV show?

At the beginning they DID talk all about all of thier favorite times to visit and they were all at low attendance times.

The couple did comment when arriving late at Epcot that it was getting crowded since they had slept in.

I think the show was fine and hopefully will prompt people into finding out more about the various "tips" presented.

I think as a group we are overly judgemental as we know everything just about ... but for someone who is a lost newbie I think the show was a good starting off point.

Yes the PS was a little too easy and the R&C Pub balcony seating was too easy (CM did say they did not gauruntee it) and the FP for MS was too easy.

But come on this is TV and thier job is to make it look good! How many people would want to go if they showed people getting turned down right and left?

I think the message of the show was to be prepared and find out about the ways to work it. Not the A to Z guide to touring.

I hope that our fellow DIS poster reads my post as I feel bad for her right now!

I think she was GREAT!

BUT .. I still argue that I am the biggest fan. LOL

I think all the 'hosts' did a fine job!

As far as what areas of WDW the show profiled, I think they (the show producers, or whoever they are) could have quickly touched on the other things to do such as Downtown Disney, Water Parks, etc.

Erika, you all did a great job...Thanks:)

Wasn't this done during the winter? Other than the fact that this was "disney magic" we didn't have any problems with same day PS's or line at MS first week of Feb.

So, I 'll give them that. But did they say you have to stay concierge to take the sunrise safari? I gave up and taped it in the end. Will finish watching later.

The adventureland thing got me too! And I know that those hours were in effect in Feb.!

No this was done like April 5 and like a week or 2 before. I know because it was going to be day we arrived on our Disneymoon.

I loved the show. As I was watching it didn't take long for me to feel the magic. I have trip for May in the works.

I was thinking about canceling my ressies and trying something other than Disney this time. That is until I saw the show.

Although I may do things a little differently, I really enjoyed the show! It was fun to see how other people enjoy their time at Disney. I thought the best part was how genuinely excited all the "hosts" were. You could absolutely tell that they loved Disney and loved sharing their experiences with others.

The lady that was purchasing the Park Hoppers was getting them for a future trip. She was saying how if you purchase them in advance, they never expire and you pay the current year's price, thus avoiding a possible price increase.

BTW, I loved the show. Perfect timing since we leave next week!:D

I wasn't crazy for the show, but i thought all of the guests were great. I was hoping the show would be a bit more slick--still trying to convert my hubby into a Disney guy.

However, what do you mean Adventureland now opens an hour late?

What other lands in the Magic kingdom are open later than regular posted hours?

We enjoyed the show last night. It was especially nice for us to be able to "preview" WDW with a friend from the UK that will be traveling with us in Nov for her first trip to WDW. She was surprised at how excited my 3 dds got just watching things on TV.

Only bad thing was now it makes waiting for our trip seem even longer!

I was proud of our Dis-ers, but all in all, the show was somewhat lackluster.

The only real problem I had with the show was when the couple bought their tickets at the counter!!! WHat??? Are you kidding me? Most Real big Disney people, yes, I mean the people on the boards, know when to get their tickets, and at a discount!!

Loved the show, cause I just LOOOOVVVVEEEE Disney!!!

I think the people featured on the show did a good job, but in all honesty, I think it was one of the worst produced WDW travel shows I've seen. It was very choppy. They flashed those little tips on the screen so fast that I really don't know what they said. They sure put that nice family through a lot! Think about it....CRT, a full morning/afternoon in MK, Hoop De Doo, fireworks cruise and Pleasure Island. Woah! Slow down a bit, Travel Channel. My head was spinning from the mere thought of it all! There was just too much going on in that show.

Sorry, guess I came across a little strong. I thought your energy was amazing. I just expected to gain a few more tips or inside peaks (would have loved to see some of the dining interaction). I had seen the "casting call", it was obvious that although everyone participating probably knew more than the directors about WDW you were told to do certain things.

I think maybe someone else hit it on the head....4 families, 4 resorts, 4 parks and extras is way to much for 1 hour.

Thanks for sharing
Sandy

I wanted to see this, but I did not get a chance too. :( Does anyone know if it will be on again and when? Thanks. :)

Erika, I loved the show and thought you were fantastic! Just wondering, was this an all expense paid trip by Disney for you?

Erika,

I need you honest professional opinion. Was the Magical Fireworks Voyage and breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table really that great. I have heard a lot of opinions on CRT, but almost none on fireworks voyage. This is only my second trip to Disney and I have ressies for both. Also the guy that stayed at AKL talked about the best parade viewing in AK. Anyone have any tips on parade viewing in other parks?

Thanks in advance.pirate:

InstImpres, thank you! I will be sure to set my VCR, so I will be able to see it! ::yes::
