Was denied for Disneymooners??

i just sent an email the first time. Today I went through the actual application process they have and was accepted. Guess that is why i was denied.

Yep. Been denied. Can't say that I'm that upset! Well done to those that have now been accepted.

Where did you get the application from?

I have to stand up and support the Disneymooners. I joined awhile back and our wedding isn't until September/October 2006 (depends on the lottery) and they have been nothing but nice and welcoming to me. Yes, there are going to be brides that have the odd complaint. But like with here, you take everything you read with a grain of salt. Really, I haven't seen very many complaints at all. And never any spoilers either. And they have a clause on the site that specifically says "Keep what you see on this site confidential, other brides may get perks but don't expect the same" in not those exact words. We all know that "pixie dust" isn't a requirement, it's a gift. At least the girls that I've run into on there seem to know this. I think it's really ridiculous that some of you are judging something you know nothing about.

And on the comment that DFTW doesn't like the Disneymooners, I guess it depends on who you talk to. My SM knows that I'm a Disneymooner and all she said was take everything you hear with a grain of salt and the board can be a really helpful tool that makes her job alot easier because in an hour and a half meeting with her (Site Visit) she wouldn't possibly be able to tell me every single option that Disney had to offer. I know that the board has helped me make decisions on where to have our wedding and not getting the coach. And it also helped us make the decision to have the wedding in the first place. Had we went by the website alone, we would have been scared off by the high costs, but in seeing other's weddings and actual budgets, we know it is possible for us.

I love the Disneymooners. Don't knock it until you've tried it. And if you haven't been accepted, you know the saying, if at first you don't succeed...

I actually just got an email from one of the members accepting me. I was previously denied because they moved forums...she was very nice and apologized so I am sure this is the case for some of you! Good luck :sunny:

I wanted to add one last comment about the reason the Disneymooners have the application process -- when I was very active on the boards, there were a few stray vendors that would get the bride's info and then spam her. That is a BIG no-no. Also, no Disney cast members are allowed to view the site. They want to make sure that is a very relaxed forum (like this one) that everyone can speak freely about anything without the idea that big brother is watching. It would be terrible to really complain about a particular disney employee (like your SM/EM) and then find out that they read all about what you wrote. Hence, the screening process..........

I am a Disneymooner and have been for almost two years. I have had nothing but a great experience with the board. I am now a past bride and even though I'm not as active, I still enjoy reading about our future brides. I have to say I was quite disturbed to read this thread and I really believe that the DM's are a wonderful group for any bride. I would have never had the few extra add on's we did for our intimate if I hadn't have been a member. I encourage all of you who have had a hard time being accepted to go to www.disneymooners.com and fill out the application. The owners of the board are awesome women, who have created a wonderful haven for Disney brides to share their plans, excitement, frustrations, and wedding bliss. My former EM was glad that I was a Disneymooner...I think it was because I stayed out of her hair and bugged my fellow DM members. ;)

The Disneymooners are a fantastic support group! the reason the "disneymooners" (people that are only honeymoonig at Disney) are not allowed is because there is no information on the site about honeymooning, not because they are discriminating. Also, it does not matter where you are in the planning process, you do not need to have an EM/SM at all. You DO however have to do the application correctly! The more info you provide, the better your chances! All of this is listed when you apply.Oh! and the DMers recently moved to a new site, and applications at the old site are denied, have to do it at the new site. I love both the DIS and DMers. Best of Luck! :wizard:

Wow! Talk about a personal opinion gone wrong! So sorry for those that were offended by my PERSONAL OPINON as stated since the first post. I am thankful and glad that people on here sure do know how to gang up on a person giving their PERSONAL OPINON. I appreciated hearing all the great things about DM’s but didn’t think I DESERVED the thread lashing. I understand some may think nothing was actually directed towards me but since I am the only one with a NEGATIVE opinion about the DM’s I would assume this is all directed at me. I was convinced and happy that the moderator answered and even gave her personal opinion about the DM’s and I thought that was good enough . . . I could have sworn she started her post as . . . “to sum it all up” But some still continued. I guess some people can’t TAKE A PERSONAL OPINON with a GRAIN of SALT. Instead they automatically jump up on their soapbox to start the thread flaming. As for the Acceptance part of my previous post, I meant the way people on the boards made you feel as to just getting “accepted”. I am happy that people are posting their PERSONAL OPINONS about the DM’s but I don’t think the “AMENS, SOME PEOPLE, DON’T KNOCK IT TILL YOU TRIED IT REMARKS,RIDICULOUS” were NOT needed. Especially since I have tried it and didn’t care for it!! Okay, as for this thread, continue on to what everyone wants to say but remember this . . . . . .this was all a PERSONAL OPINON. Thanks to everyone on here that was just stating their good times with the DM’s and didn’t add the condescending remarks and what not.

From the heart I hope everyone on here has a Magical Day!

I was just about to post a message to say I got accepted for DM and was v excited - but it ain't a patch in this board - some of the threads there haven't been updated for days whereas here people are quick to answer and help.

I'll check it out a couple more times but I think as with all these sites it's personal taste and we have to visit the ones we like and not bother with the ones that don't help us.

So long of course as we all remember that
a] we're all doing this for the love of disney
b] :disrocks:

EvilinaDM101, I'm really sorry you had a negative experience with the Disneymooners. When were you a member? I don't remember seeing you there. Anyway, like stated, we have the rules in place for acceptance so that it is a safe place for the members. We don't have to worry about Disney, vendors, family, or strangers reading our plans and posts. Most of us are very open about our plans there and not here since this is public. We are considerable smaller than the DIS, so sometimes it may take a little while to get an answer, but on a whole we generally find things out one way or another before non-DMers do. I'm sure no one meant to attack you personally, but when you are negative about a group you can only expect them to say something. We think of each other as a network of friends, so of course we are going to stick up for one another and our group as a whole.

Again, I am really sorry you had a negative experience with the group as a whole and feel that you were being ganged up on in this thread and singled out. You stated your personal opinion, which of course you have a right to, be others expressed their personal opinions too.

I have read some of the things you have posted about your wedding, and I really hope you have a great, beautiful day as it sounds like it will be. Just under 5 weeks now for you! Congratulations! :goodvibes

I belong to both groups and love them both, but must admit that I spent more time over at DM and got great ideas and help. If anyone is using Rev. Jack or Randy Chapman just ask them how they feel about the Disneymooners and you will find out what a great bunch of people there are on that board!
