Was Cinderella's castle originally Aurora's?

Aurora and Cinderella have castles, and I understand why Belle and Snow White don't have castles....but what about Ariel? She becomes human and marries Prince Eric.....where is her castle???

But shouldn't Snow White have a castle? At the end of the movie as the Prince is leading her off on the horse, you see a castle. Isn't that where they are going?

I found this King Stefan explanation on Mouse Planet:

"Though it wasn't called Cinderella's Royal Table until April 28, 1997, the restaurant remains essentially unchanged from when it opened with the park in 1971 as King Stefan's Banquet Hall. That was an interesting name since King Stefan was Sleeping Beauty's father and had no connection to Cinderella. Apparently, the name reflects a medieval practice of naming a castle's dining hall after one's closest ally. The character breakfast at this location began in 1996."

Very cool find. How nice to know there is a significance to the mismatched naming, and that it is not simply an oversight!

Yes, that does make a lot of sense. I supose changing the name of the restaurant to name it after Cinderella is easier that having to explain Medevial pracitces of naming banquet halls to everyone.

Um, not to be too cynical here, but ya'll don't suppose the whole, "medieval practice of naming a castle's dining hall after one's closest ally" think is a bunch of hooey, er, Magical Disney Storytelling, that was made up after the fact, do you?

OMG, I think that castle in Paris is the most beautiful one I've seen!! Now I wanna go there!!

For all of those who think differently, here's a link to the Fantasyland page (in English) for the Disneyland Resort Paris website.

You'll note is says Sleeping Beauty Castle. Not Belle Castle, not Snow White Castle.

It's definitely my favorite of the Disney castles.

Wow! That is a true whimsical FantasyLand!!

I guess my friend was right. Does each castle look different even if they may belong to the same princess? In that case I guess I'll have to make it to Hong Kong and Japan.

I propose a Disneyland Middle East so Jasmine can have a castle. Think how cool that castle would look; the style of the Sultan's castle in Aladdin was really unique compared to the others.

Touring a park there would put warm Florida or California touring days to shame!

The Castle In Paris Is Snow Whites

As posted before, it belongs to Princess Aurora and though I have never been there, I saw on an old special for Disneyland Paris that they used to have a magical moment where they would awaken Aurora every morning. Don't know if they still do this but it was so cute. Maybe it was only for the special.

That is a spectacular idea!!

Ok..I admit a Jasmine castle would be really cool....but can you imagine how long the security bag checks to get in would take???? :rotfl2:

for me nothing can beat good old Cinderella Castle in MK...although I would love to visit the overseas castles at least once! :wizard:

I think the restaurant name at the WDW castle changed when Prince Charming arranged a coup to overthrow King Stefan.;) :earsboy:
