Was Cinderella's castle originally Aurora's?

So, even if the castle in Paris belongs to Sleeping Beauty and the Tokyo one belongs to Sleeping Beauty do they look different than the ones in the U.S.?

i think it is so disappointing that the same two princesses get all the castles! Belle should have the French castle, and Snow White could use some recognition too, right? ;)

I couldnt agree with you more! ::yes::

As previously posted, the Disney World and Tokyo Disney Cinderella castles are the same and the Disneyland and Hong Kong Sleeping Beauty castles are the same. The only one that looks different is the one in Paris that is Sleeping Beauty castle, not Belle's. It actually looks like the one from the film. It's so pretty.
Snow White's castle is in the clouds. That's why there isn't one for her and Belle and the Beast are not married so she does not have a castle.
I work with the princesses and these are always popular questions.

Thanks....this may save me lots of money. I was on a mission to visit all the Disney Parks to take pictures of the castles. Now I don't have to go to Tokyo and Hong Kong.

This may be a dumb question but what about Ariel. Doesn't she marry the prince on land once she becomes a human. I'm no princess expert but I'm learning.

They had replicas of the castles on the float for the Rose Parade...then they had the different princesses in front of each, so now my DD swears that each one is a castle for THAT princess (ie, Hong Kong MUST be Snow White since she was in front of that one, etc, etc).

I thought I rembered learning during Traditions that the castle was actually King Stephans, and he named it "Cinderella" in honor of Cinderella? Hence it is called Cinderella Castle, and not Cinderella's Castle (as in belonging to her).

Doesn't make a lot of sense now...but in the awe of Magic Kingdom orientation it made perfect sense :)

I heard that the castle in Paris was really done RIGHT...no corners cut...because there are chateaus all over France (little castles essentially) so Eisner didn't want us Americans to come in and do a cheap castle in a country of REAL ones. Ergo, the budget on that one went WAYYYYYY over.

Cinderella's castle is taller and thinner.. aurora's is wider and a little shorter. I'm not sure if they're actually that way, but that's the way they look.

Yes.. Ariel marries Prince Eric. My car is named after him.. don't ask me, I didn't name him.

There are a couple of other Disneyland things in the game. I think it's a mix of the two parks.

..in Cindy's castle came about because King Stefan was Walt Disney's favaorite character. Or so I was told by a CM who worked the door of CRT. Take this for what it's worth, I don't know if she meant his favorite human character or his favorite male character, or what. This was about three years ago. At the time DD was too young to really appreciate CRT, so we hadn't been yet, but the very friendly CM provided us with some info on the castle.

I've been to MK and Disneyland, and if anything stuck out was the fact that the castle in Disneyland is MUCH smaller.

Didn't realize they were "occupied" be different royals, though...

Eddie Izzard has a part of one of his acts where he talks about the castle at Disneyland Paris. When in discussions about designing the castle, someone says "You better make it a bit bigger. They've actually got castles here... and they're not made of plastic."

I LOVE Eddie!

Aurora and Cinderella have castles, and I understand why Belle and Snow White don't have castles....but what about Ariel? She becomes human and marries Prince Eric.....where is her castle???

I found this King Stefan explanation on Mouse Planet:

"Though it wasn't called Cinderella's Royal Table until April 28, 1997, the restaurant remains essentially unchanged from when it opened with the park in 1971 as King Stefan's Banquet Hall. That was an interesting name since King Stefan was Sleeping Beauty's father and had no connection to Cinderella. Apparently, the name reflects a medieval practice of naming a castle's dining hall after one's closest ally. The character breakfast at this location began in 1996."

The Castle In Paris Is Snow Whites

No it is not. The castle in Paris IS Sleeping Beauty's. That is where the name Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant comes from. Which translates roughly to the castle of the Sleeping Beauty.
