Was Bush Wired?

I can assure you that I will never base any of my political beliefs on an extremely unscientific internet poll.

when last I checked, the poll indicated that 89% of the people responding think Bush was wired.

But the unanswered question is, wired for what?

Then why can't the Bush administration just say so instead of dance around it?
Perhaps because they don't, as a policy, talk publically about details of security efforts with regard to the President...

Particularly given that the Left has decided that on-line poll "spin spamming" is an effective way to influence public opinion.

frankly, rhonda, we all saw "something". none of us are in a position to know what it was we saw.

you will not be convinced of what you saw by reading the opinions of others, including polls.

but that almost 90% of those who responded to the poll believe that the president was wearing an electronic device speaks volumes about how people view the president, don't you agree?

Maybe he couldn't understand the answers he was given well enough to repeat them back :rotfl: .

I just can't get over all the disrespect the President of the United States of America gets. Yes, I am a Bush supporter but I would never call Kerry (if he becomes President) names like that (idiot, etc).
I hope whoever ultimatly wins also wins the respect the office deserves regardless of your personal opinion.

No, I don't agree with that comment at all.

If it were a valid poll, then I would probably agree.

If I wanted to, I could sit here all day long dumping the cookies from my computer and vote several thousands times in that poll.

I agree 100%

If that were a random sampling of the public, you'd have a point. What it speaks volumes about is that this link to the poll is no doubt posted all over the pro-Kerry blogsphere.

why don't we go post the same question at foxnews, then? I'd hazard a guess the numbers would be lower, but I'd also guess that a good number of people would respond the smae way.

jennyanddots, Foxnews.com, cnn.com, I don't care which one. It still won't produce a credible result no matter what the outcome.

That box in Bush's suit jacket (David Shuster)

After a weekend of reading about it on the web, and hearing my very own relatives discuss it... this afternoon I conducted a "formal investigation" into the mysterious box that appeared in the middle of President Bush's back during the first presidential debate. "The Shuster commission" considered this story with an open mind. "The commission" (comprised of "me, myself, and I") was open to the possibility the president "was wired electronically or otherwise," but also open to the claim that the photos were "a hoax." The Shuster commission report has three sections: (1) Methods, (2) Results, and (3) Conclusions.

snip

Results: At several points on the tape, most prominently between approximately 9:30 p.m. and 10:15 p.m., there does appear to be some "mysterious object" in the back of the president's suit jacket. However, when the tape is slowed down, you see the object changing form depending on the president's movement and how the light hits the back of his jacket. In addition, the object appears to be long and narrow when Mr. Bush is hunched over, but short and wide when he is standing taller a few minutes later. As for John Kerry, at one point around 9:30 p.m., the Senator also appears to have an object in the back of his suit jacket... but to the Shuster commission, it had the shape of one of those wooden spaghetti mixing forks. (*Exclusive, must credit to MSNBC "Hardblogger"). Said "spaghetti fork" seems to disappear a short time later. In examining the President and John Kerry at the beginning and end of the debate, no objects or "bunching up" can be seen in either men's suit jacket.

snip

The "Shuster commission" concludes the mysterious form on President Bush CAN NOT be some sort of electronic device because of the way it changed shape as the President leaned a few inches to either his right or left. The mysterious form also seems to disappear at times... and is not detectable at the beginning or end of the debate. Furthermore, a close examination of videotape showing the president's head turned to both sides revealed no hearing aid or other type of listening device in either ear.

snip

So, conspiracy theorists, take heart... you weren't entirely crazy. You did see something that wasn't a faked picture. But, the picture was not of a candidate who was "wired,"... just one who was sweating, wearing a starched shirt, and using bad posture.

The "Shuster commission" welcomes your thoughts and/or comments... DShuster@msnbc.com

jennyanydots, I've got some news for you... on-line polls are worthless, period. They are statistically meaningless even before you factor in the newest on-line liberal hobby: "poll spamming". Here's an example from VP debate: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x974046 What's the Conservative on-line community response been?... Reverse psych. In an effort to highlight the behavior on the left, the concensus on the right has been to not "return fire" but instead "vote for Kerry/Edwards". It's working. Some newpaper editors have noted that results showing on-line polls numbers like 99-1 for Kerry don't have much face validity and CNN actually pulled their "Who won the debate?" poll in favor of a party neutral "Did this debate influence who you will vote for?" question when it was obvious that partisan "poll spammers" were at work.

These on line polls are now being spammed by bots that will answer repeatedly. This is about as scientific as my wife asking me if her pants make her butt look big.

I can respect the office without respecting the man. Sort of like supporting our troops without supporting the war, a distinction that some Republicans have trouble making.
