Was anyone NOT able to book the DVC beach bash today?

I called member services at 9:02 and was on hold until 9:20. At 9:22 I was told that all reservations were taken for the Beach Bash on 7/23. I was dumbfounded that it could be completely full that quickly given that I was only 2 minutes late in dialing. I asked for a supervisor and while waiting the CM came back to say that a reservation for 5 had become available, another CM must have been holding it and released it. My question is, was it truly full or did the CM that I was speaking to make a mistake? Since it can be cancelled due to weather she suggested that we book a second date since we are able, which means I need to call again on Friday for the next party and am not sure how stressed I need to be.

Sorry to hear that, but you are very lucky that you can chose two different dates. Many of us are only going to be there for one of the parties. I am going to be stressing for the next week until I can call. Glad I didn't tell the family, so only I'll be disappointed and not my grandkids

You probably saw this on the other thread, but apparently that was a mistake. I called at 11:30am and got a reservation at the party for 9 people. I think there might have been a problem when they switched the booking from MS (who I think did the earliest calls) to Disney dining, who took the later calls (including mine). They inserted an option at the very beginning of the call to press 1 to book the members beach party, and I think that sent us all over to Disney Dining. It worked out fine for me.

I would guess (hope!) that by the next reservation day, they'll have the kinks worked out.

Anybody know if it really did sell out today?
