Whew...what a whirl 2005 has been....I would have to say it has been a very stressful year for me and my family....
My elderly moms illnesses and hip break
Dealing with rehab for my mom and the personnel in a rehab housed in a nursing home.....YIKES....I learned the meaning of the squeaky wheel getting oiled first....
DS19 causing more gray hairs and wrinkles to dh and me than I could ever imagine
Getting absolutely no help from siblings with mom....
Worry about moms return to her home and living arrangements and safety
Learning my mom has heart problems on top of everything else.
DS19 totaling his truck (thankfully not his fault) and subsequent injuries.
Married dd27 giving birth to her 2nd child and being far away from home...Her dh is in the AF.
I am praying that 2006 is a less stressful year....I need a break.

The first half was stressful, but the second half has been a pleasure. I was caught in a bad situation up until June, now I feel like a prisoner that has been released.

I can relate to that.. First half of the year was bad.. I was hospitalized for a couple of weeks, bedridden for another month.. DD had to have facial stitches due to a dog bite (happened while I was in the hospital- not our dog, BTW).. Had to be involved in criminal proceedings (pressing charges) and all the counseling that went with the incident..(and this was a close close family friend, so we had to deal with the blow of losing someone, too).. all that while homeschooling AND going to school full time..

Oh yeah, the second half has been better. DD went to public school, we got to take her to WDW, my health has been a bit better... :)

The entire year has been miserable. 2005 was the worst year of my life and I can't wait for it to be over.

2004
Dad Died of Cancer
I was diagnosed with Cancer
Chemo knocked me for a loop, 4 hospitalizations
SO had massive coronary and had surgery on New Year's Eve

2005
Finished Cancer treatments in May
went to WDW 3 times from May to August
back to work after taking a year off for treatment

The beginning of the year was terrible but my May everything seemed to be falling back into place. Not as healthy as I was prior to cancer but I am hopin g for many more years of health now that I know what the monster is and how to be on the lookout for him trying to come into my life again. 2005 was rough, but I think that as we move into certain phases of our lives, there are apt to be challenges, such as teenagers, job losses, aging parents, etc. I'm still so blessed to have a few wonderful friends and a loving family. Our health has held out, which, as we can see from other posters' experience, is the primary issue that concerns us all. I hope all of my fellow DISers have a healthy and prosperous 2006! And if it doesn't work out as we'd like, at least we still have each other! ;)

All in all 2005 was a pretty good year for me. Not the best but definately not the worst. For those of you who had a bad 2005 I hope 2006 is much much better!

2005 was stressfull and a great year at the same time.We almost lost my dad to an illness that we didn't know existed and then my parents lived with us for 3 months. That was a blessing as well as stressfull. My children really changed this year and were awesome to watch.

My Life will NEVER be uneventful or unstressful
but there were more good than bad this year ;)

stressful -
DH had his left kidney removed in August due to cancer. Then in Dec had a thyroid needle biopsy to see if the cancer spread (which it didnt thank God).
My older brother had a bone scan to see if his cancer spread to his bones (which was negative).

Overall first impression.... GREAT YEAR!! We did some traveling (which I LOVE) across this beautiful U.S..... saw Disneyland and the Grand Canyon for the first time, attended two terrific family weddings. DH had successful surgery in the Spring. The kids are healthy and happy and doing well in school. No unusual/unexpected expenses. No terrible illnesses or deaths. God is good! It was a GREAT YEAR!.......P

Definately stressful

1. DD (7) hurt at Disney - neck injury
2. Unemployed at the begining of the year, now working part time, but no
insurance
3. PT job lost funding and cut work in July
4. father died
5. DH sick in hospital for two months
6. moved - expense for two homes
7. 13 year old dalmation died
8. mother very ill
9. DH totaled car
10. A couple close friends very ill (one with Breast cancer and the other with two brain tumors)
11. Still trying to recover from ID theft - finally got new SS number
12. working on Ph.D

I sure hope next year is better. It has been rough. I don't have time to recovery from one incident before another happens. There are many additional minor issues.

Very stressful - and most everyone here knows why.. I've handled it pretty well though and am looking forward to 2006 and all the new possibilities that will be open to me and my family.. :flower:

2005 started out alright, but ended up being a very stressful and emotional roller coaster that ended with the passing of my dear father. But as they say, when the lord closes a door, he opens a window and the end of 2005 became much better. I think my Dad watching out for us from above had something to do with it all! No, I know my Dad had a lot to do with it!

Thanks Daddy and Merry Christmas, wherever you are!

It started off very stressful. Then April/May were the worst and most stressful times I have ever gone through. I was in my last semester of college, attempting to do a senior project so I could graduate. When I found out I did, I let out the biggest cheer ever! Then it became slightly stressful again when I was trying to get a job. Then in September while on vacation in Disney I got a call back, I was offered the job I always wanted! I was in Disney and learned I got my dream job, what could be better? After that this year has been great. I am just hoping next year stays this good.

Thank you everyone everywhere for dealing with me during my senior project, I know I was *$%chy. Thank you to DBF for understanding how broke I was this summer and taking me on vacation. And thank you to my new place of employment, you made this year worth it. And no thank you to sallie mae for keeping track of my student loans. Couldn't you have just "lost" them somewhere along the way?

Wooh..2005 was a little stressful but more so it was hectic! Between my own health issues, family health issues, leaving my job to go back to school and a busy busy first semester at grad school...I am tired!
Looking forward to a new year! :)

2005 tis one of the worse in memory for me. Me welcoming 2006 with open arms!
