Was 2003 a good year for you? My personal reflections

2003 was joyful and sad for me.

Sad - It started off with a bang of should I say a thud of DD breaking her arm by jumping of the arm of our sofa! Both forearm bones broken. Luckily she was only two and only needed four weeks in a cast to heal. If she had been an older child the Dr.'s told us she would of have had surgery and eight weeks in a cast.

Joy - But joy quickly followed as DH found out his company was making him take a weeks vacation or loose it. So as soon as DD's cast was off we droved to WDW!!!! That was a wonderful bonus trip at the AKL which was just awesome. It was something DD really looked forward to in her last week in her cast. It was a great time.

More joy - My brother proposed to his girlfriend and quickly asked DD to be the flower girl. She was thrilled!!! The wedding is in June!

Joy - Found out in early August we were expecting number 2. We were elated but cautious. I already had two miscarriages. That same month we celebrated DD's 3rd birthday.

Sad- Sept. 15 I miscarried again at 10 weeks pregnancy. Miscarriage number 3 for me. We have now been doing some genetic counseling and testing.

Joy - I am again pregnant! I am only six weeks and am praying this baby will be healthy and born in August. So I'm looking forward to 2004 and praying this will be our year that we add another child to our family.

God Bless you all in the new year! :)

Not the best but not the worst. In April, husband had a "heart incident", same week I had to have my 15 year old dog put to sleep and I had 2 car accidents.

Good news, hubby is ok, only 50% blockage in 1 artery, doesnt need surgery. Accidents were minor, no injuries. Still fighting insurance company on 1 since the woman was a liar and had a "witness" who wasn't even at the accident.

Got another dog in May, she is 3 and brings joy to us.

My mother broke her hip and wrist in August. Spent 2 months in hospital and rehab. Now home and recovering but I think her heart is going. She has emphysema and magular degeneration.

But we still have jobs, get up each day and have the future to look towards. They say God doesnt give us more than we can handle.

2003 was the best year of my life besides 2000 when I got married. On July 2nd, 2003 our first child was born...what can top that? He has just been amazing. :) And to top it off, I graduated from law school! Woo Hoo!! Oh...and how could I forget, we were lucky enough to enjoy a trip to WDW in March. :) A great year to say the least!

All in all 2003 was a very good year for DH and I.

We've come a loooooooooong way since 2000 and have so much to be thankful for. I thank the Father often when I look back on where we could have been.

So much happened in the year that just sticks out in my mind:

Ministering to people in the name of the Father. My DH touching so many with his rap songs about the Father and His son. Have had so many tell us is so wonderful to hear rap they can understand and to hear it about The Greatest of them all!! :teeth:

Celebrating 12 years with DH in New Orleans!

Going to the Dove Awards in April

Losing 30 pounds on Atkins and realizing that fast food just isn't as necessary as I thought it was. :p

DH also losing about 40 pounds on Atkins. It's just wonderful to see him thinning down and being happier because he's healthier. :D

All the awesome things my bible study group has discovered about the Father and His Word (the Bible). I look forward to Tuesday nights like you wouldn't believe! It's one of my favorite nights of the week.

Becoming more financially sound since about August. It's amazing that without even trying really, I've started a cushion for DH and I. About $300 or so. If anything happens, the money is there and I don't have to worry like I used to about not having.

The year was really cool and hard to believe that in 3 days, it will be over! Where do the years go?? :scratchin

Awesome thread....thank you for allowing me to remember what's really important....THE FATHER and everything he's done for me and my family!! ::yes::

Bad: having to postpone school due to money woes(but I'm hoping to go back next fall or next spring)

the good: being happily in love and having my 1 year anniversay with DBF

For the most part 2003 was a great year for me. I lost my grandmother in April, but other than that everything else has been pretty good. I got married in July and had the most amazing honeymoon in Disney, my husband and I bought a new house, we got the most adorable kitten, and I have a new little nephew who was born just about 2 weeks ago. One of the other not so great things- I'm still looking for a full time job because I had to give mine up when I moved. Overall it was a great year, definitely much better than the past few years!

I've learned alot about myself and about my friends in 2003. Most of it centers around expectations, needs and desires. I've also discovered that words I say and what they mean can be drastically different than how they are interpreted by the listener.

We can only be who we are. Hopefully we can see our shortcomings, our dreams and our failures as stepping stones in life.

A year of change. DH's major career change, a new vehicle, a daughter with her first boyfriend just to name a few. I think in the larger scheme of things, we won't know the impact of any of these changes until 2004.;)

2003 for the most part was great.
I still love my job after 27 years. Have a good new manager!
My kids and husband are doing great.

The bad: I was diagnosed with rheumatoid and osteoarthritis recently. I have always been pretty healthy no colds or nothing so this is all new to me. Some days are tough just getting up. Thank God there is medication that gives some relief. I dont know how folks did it years ago.

I have never been so glad for a year to be over as I am this one, although it is ending better that the rest of it. The first of the year was spent getting DFIL through his cemo and radiation treatments for cancer. Doing much better now! He spent 2 weeks in hospital in April with pnemonia. It just happened to be the same time as we had planned a big 10 year birthday party for Megan. DMIL won't stay by herself so DH was splitting time. DMIL spent a week in hospital at Father's Day. Once again won't stay by herself. Spent the summer moving them into a retirement/assisted living apartment and selling their house. We did get a trip to Disney in in the fall but Megan wasn't feeling well and really didn't enjoy it that much. And my grandmother passed away while we were gone to Disney and my parents didn't tell us until we came home. Megan was in the hospital with pnemonia in August and had a really hard time getting over it. Then her health continued to decline until the week before Thanksgiving when she had surgery to place a feeding tube in for her meds. Recovered well from surgery but a week later came down with RSV. Now the last week of the year finds everyone healthy and happy and hopfully it will continue well into 2004.
