WARRIORS I NEED YOUR HELP!! I NEED A TITLE FOR FEBRUARY>>>

Please discuss!

-Tracy (5 days until the ING Miami Half)

Tracy wow your 1/2 is really soon. Are you ready?!?! Yeah *** you're a warrior :) I've been trying to think of something feb ish for our thread, but I'm failing after such a hectic day at work! Sorry. I have no idea how to get shin scar tissue off... leaving that for physio

Amy it's so lovely to see you and such great news you're doing the princess- i loved it last year!

Carrie a 6 miler is a 6 miler, you definitely can't sniff at that! I know, i'm extremely lucky and a little bit spoilt by my parents, but can't wait for some warmth in disney!

Jim so sorry your foot's still sore- those cold packs are amazing tho. 15.1 very windy miles is very impressive too- good work.

Lily i totally understand how you feel with your son just moving out. Being so close by is a massive help, but it'l still take some getting used to. You can be very proud that he's decided to spread his wings.

Popped to gym yesterday before work and covered 4 miles on cross trainer then 4.5miles on bike in 45mins. Hoping to swim in the morning- avoiding running is making me grumpy tho

Howdy Warrior team,

I started my training for the Illinois marathon last week. Ran a total of 19 miles. This week so far, 10 miles down & 10 to go. Race date is 05/01/10. This will be my first full after running 4 1/2's in the past 12 months.

Tracy- GOOD LUCK in your upcoming half.:yay:

Stan

Stan, there will be some WISHers at the Indy. I'm doing the half and several others are. I hope we get to see ya there!

Kate, yes it is a good thing DS is trying. I'm happy to be around to see him succeed. Also, if needed we're still here and he has an open door.

Carrie, yeah--10 miler since I think it is the schedule for the half on Feb 28th. I really don't have my calendar finalized, but think I got the weeks set for that one.

I got outside to do almost 2 miles in the cold with Kirby these last couple days. Nothing stellar.

For February Discussion: February, Warriors Feelin' the Love!

Lily,

I am running the Illinois marathon not INDY. Might try that next year though. I like the Warrior's feeling the love for Feb...

I got out for my 8 1/4 miler as usual. Felt like a slug and had to think about why? Oh yeah, blood donation last Friday. That's why.

Well, got the miles in, and just beat the rain coming pouring down.

Happy Thursday Warriors.

Oh, and Stan, Patrick & Liz are from Chicago area. And if I recall correctly, so are Jim and Pat. So you may see them at some Illinois events.

How about - Warriors Putting our Hearts into it for Feb?

Jeff - be careful! Don't push too hard when low on blood!

Lily -You are amazing! Wow! I only did 1 race marathon wekend and am doing Princess the week after your race adn I won't hit 10 until Feb 22. Yeah, I'm a slcker, but I pushed way too hard last year.

Kate - I'm going 3 times this year, I can't call you spoiled! BTW, after my massage MOnday, I really can't believe how hard your massage therapist must be. You must find someone new!

:guilty: Been a slacker this week. Still trying to catch up at home.

Howdy Warriors!!

Cool, windy (again), bright sunny day in NE Florida. 17.12 miles on my mountain bike today.

Ok. So. It's Florida. How about we call it a "really, really REALLY SMALL hill & sometimes bridge bike". Same pace as last time. Slight ache in the foot. The foot feels much better, but I have this naggin' suspicion that if I tried to run it would get real bad, real fast. And if I reported to my DW that I had hurt it again you would probably never hear from me again, & the body (mine) would never be recovered...........:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

My next day of "running" is going to be the ESPN 5k on February the whatever day that is, then the Princess 5k & the Nat'l Breast Cancer 1/2M somewhere in that mix. That gives me about 4 weeks to get (relatively) healthy. As long as all of the big pieces stay attached, I should be ok (but probably not very quick).......

You guys are all awesome!!

Thanks for the welcome Tracy!

Hello Warriors!!! My name is Chris and I've been a part of WISH since 2007. The last couple years I have been the captain of Buzz's Brigade. Sadly our group is no more and I have asked to joing your group.

Just a little about me. I have been married almost 11 years, have a 10 year old and 2 year old. I live in Ohio in the heart of Buckeye country. I started with WISH while trying to lose some weight. I ended up losing 120 pounds and have held steady at 100 pounds (My family said I was looking sick so I gained some back.)

I've completed the last two Goofy Challenges and before that my first Marathon at Disney (or 3 Marathons in total.)

Super excited about being a part of the team.

Take Care
Chris

Chris,

Welcome to the Warriors, I'm new here also. Congrats on completing the Goofy the past 2 years. My first attempt at it will be 2011.:yay:

Hi Chris! :thumbsup2

WELCOME~ I'm not sure if I'll be running in 2011, but I'll be there in 2012.:thumbsup

Hello Warriors....

I'm sending a few new members your way. Please give 'em a warm elcome.

Cheree/Forthemedal
Schmorks
Bookwood

Thanks,

Maura

Bookwood? Is that you, Pam? I see you're from IN, so I am hoping! (OK, if it's not Pam, forgive me and I will still welcome you very warmly! :goodvibes)

Huge welcomes to Cherree and Schmorks, too!

Jim - Good plan resating that foot. (and not just because I fear what your dw will do to you if you don't) Hope it continues to improve!

Hey Warriors! Thanks for the welcome and happy to be here! I'm a newbie to the official WISH team but borrowed a lot of helpful hints over the past year to complete the 2010 Disney Marathon. It was my first marathon and, despite my thoughts at mile 23, not my last!

Glad to meet you all and get back into training!

Courtney

Thanks for the welcome. My name is Cheree and I will be walking/jogging my third 1/2 marathon this September at DLR. I walked the Country Music 1/2 in Nashville in 2008 for TNT and did WDW in the sleet in 2010 on my own. I realized that if I was going to do anymore than I needed to have someone to be accountable to so I am hoping the team here will help me stay motivated to train for September.
I got my husband to join me for the race in September so I am hoping that will help too. A little about myself I have 6 year old twin boy/girl and grew up in Los Angeles (visited Disneyland about 8 times a year). About 4 years ago we decided to move to Tennessee in hopes of our children not going up in such a big city (culture shock is finally starting to wear off). I did the Nashville 1/2 with TNT, to help raise money for a good cause and because my sister said that she felt like a loser. (She had said she wanted to the WDW in 2007 when we moved here and never did). So she completed Nashville with me. When we finished we said we would never do that again. By 8:00 that night we were discussing when we would do the next one. Well it took 2 years and we finally completed WDW now we are in training for DLR. I hope to be able to do Mickey in 2012 (or 2011) depending on training through the summer. And we are talking about going Goofy in 2014. Anyway without the TNT team my training was not as focused for WDW so I am hoping friends, family and the wishes team will help me stay focused so that I will be able to run some of DLR.
Can't wait to get to know everyone on the team.

Bookwood? Is that you, Pam? I see you're from IN, so I am hoping! (OK, if it's not Pam, forgive me and I will still welcome you very warmly! :goodvibes)

Yes it's me- but who are you????? I don't recognize the initials.

For the rest of the warriors- I'm Pam a 54 yr old substitute teacher from Huntington Indiana, mom of 4 grown kids ages 28-21. I finished my 11th half 3 weeks ago at WDW- even with the weather it was my 3rd? best time ever. I was happy not to have to walk the end because of cramps in my calves- which has happened every race for the last few years! I hope it wasn't the cold that kept the cramps away and maybe it was the extra calf work I did and the potassium I was taking. I was out cheering during the Marathon so if you remember a group on the Swan/Dolphin hill really yelling their throats out- that was me (and some very vocal peeps.)

I have no firm racing plans for 2010 except the Ft Wayne Half in September, although I am training for Country Music Marathon- I'll not be doing the WDW Marathon weekend races next year as I'll be on the Wonder for the Panama Canal repo cruise- I will look to do the 5K at Castaway cay though,

I have signed up for the virtual Valentines race- I still have to check the training plan to see whether it'll be a 5 or 10 K. I'm trying to get back to pre-holiday shape so I've been running every weekday after school- not going as far as usual just because I'm running more often than I usually do.

I did 10 miles last week and will have 12 in this week if you're counting yet!

I do like the "heart" slogan idea for Feb.
