I'm thinking about signing up for a Warrior Dash and I wanted to know if anyone has done one before and what they thought of it. A 5k by itself doesn't sound to bad, but a 5k with obstacles sounds "interesting." Any tips would be welcome too.

I'm doing the 8+ mile Super Spartan at the end of Feb. As for advice...... if you have any concern about injuries make sure you wrap the areas. Wrap your ankles if needed or if you need a knee brace, instead try wrapping it with tape.

Also, buy some tights! 7" - 9" long tights will save you from becoming raw. The first time you fall into the mud you'll understand what I mean. Only thing worse than running wet is running with mud in your crack or between your legs :)

I'm not sure what you have to do on the mud run but I don't do a lot of physical labor so I wear nice gloves to help with ropes, bars, and climbing over walls.

Good Luck!

I did the Rugged Maniac which is very similar..a 5K with obsticles! I loved it! It was hard but so fun! As long as you don't mind getting dirty!! :)
I can't wait to do it again!!

Thanks for the info. I would never have thought of tights. Luckily, none of my old injuries popped up during the marathon relay so I shouldn't need any tape, but i'll keep it in mind just incase.

Yep. Warrior dash was awesome! Hard, but such a sense of accomplishment when finished". Work your upper arms.....lots of climbing!

We had an awesome time at the Warrior Dash. There was a really neat vibe there and a lot of people were dressed up, which made it fun! We loved the course, it was challenging but you can just go at your own pace. We have registered for the Tough Mudder which I believe is 11 miles. Definitely going to do the Warrior again this year to train for the Mudder. I am a sucker for a cool hat, so I would highly recommend it :)
