BREAKING NEWS: Warren Jeffs found guilty on BOTH counts of sexual assault. He could now be facing 99 years in prison.

edited to add: I hope he is sexually assaulted in jail for the rest of his life. Brutally and violently. I have zero tolerance for child molesters.

There are jurors out there who had a very graphic audio tape of sex with a minor, a defendant who never denied the sexual acts, as well as unrefuted DNA evidence.

I hope and pray they don't stop with Warren Jeffs. He and his followers are disgusting. I want them to go after the MOTHERS now. During the "marriage ceremony", it's the MOTHERS who take their daughters hands and put them in Jeff's hand. I don't care about their "religion". Believe what you want, but hands off the 12 year old girls! This makes me so mad. That 12 year old gave birth at age 15 with his child. I heard there was a relative (not in that particular community) who had a 9 year old wife who didn't even have her period yet and yet he still had relations with her and said it was difficult because she was so "small". I heard this from one of the women who got out. THANK GOD he was found guilty. This makes me want to cry from joy and I never ever got so emotional over a trial like this.

Did you all see the photo of the temple bed where the young girls are deflowered? There's an altar right next to it and a kneeling thing right up against the bed. What's all that there for? So the leader or whoever can watch from the altar??? Good lord I have to stop for a minute.

What do you think this means? I wonder if it means he really believes he's the Prophet and thought he'd get off through God's intervention? Does it means he's crazy and didn't realize how serious the charges against him were? Does it mean he's an arrogant, defiant SOB who wants to shove it to the system by standing up for himself?

I can't figure this guy out. I just know he makes me sick and I'm so happy he has been stopped.

One question, can he make a motion for an appeal since he's representing himself??

Just seeing you quote that sick animal makes my stomach hurt. The thought of a MOTHER giving her 12 yr old daughter to that pervert and him RESTRAINING her and raping her makes my skin crawl. My daughter is almost 12 and I cannot imagine a grown man violating her. I would lose my mind.
And to think a mother willingly gave the girl. The mother needs to go to prison as well.

He is a sick and evil monster! I hope that they go after everyone involved and I hope and pray that something can be done to stop this madness. Now that they know exactly what goes on, it needs to be stopped!

In any other situation if a parent gave their child to a grown man to have sex with, they would be prosecuted as well. It's time they bust this sect up and go after all them. Certainly the parents of the two girls involved in this case and the other wives who watched while this happened should be prosecuted.

I have mixed feelings on the mothers.

On the one hand, I completely agree that they have participated in a horrendous crime, but on the other hand, they themselves are victims. They've been raised in this twisted way, and all their lives they've been fed on lies. They've been kept away from the outside world. I read somewhere that some of the women genuinely believe that their cult leader is the president of the US, they've been told about various "laws" that supposedly keep them enslaved, and they've been told lots of other lies that've convinced them that they'd be killed (or worse) if they leave the compound. Likewise, they've been taught that their leaders are almost gods, and they must submit to their every whim.

So I just don't know about the mothers. Raised in that odd situation for generation after generation -- how could they do any better? As I said, I have mixed feelings on the mothers.
