Going to the Vacation As You Wish Member Celebration causes spontaneous additonitis!!! We went just to see Bay Lake and join in on a DVC event since we would actually be there while one was going on and low and behold, we added on 100 points, which was not even a possibility when we went! That place is absolutely fabulous and we are proud to call it our new home! This is definitely the cream of the crop when it comes to DVC resorts! We have a Feb. UY and were given Feb. 2009 points and Feb. 2010 points and have already made two reservations for BLT!

On a side note...stayed in a Treehouse Villa this week and it was awesome as well! Disney did it up right here! We were in Villa 7026 on the river and loved every moment. We had 9 people total in the villa and never felt cramped at all! If you have any questions about the Treehouse, please let me know!

Anyways...just wanted to warn everyone of what may happen if you decide to check out BLT!

Thanks Bobbi! Just a piece of advice...I usually believe DVC sales reps and they told me that BLT was probably going to be sold out by the end of Sept. If it were another timeshare, I would think this is a sales pitch, but I believe them. So, I just wanted to tell you that! We actually had a wait list come through also for December at BLT.

Congratulations. We will be staying at BLT in October and really looking forward to it. Before it was announced, we had intended to buy but haven't yet....we'll see.

THV didn't feel cramped with 9? We have one reserved for next March. Currently have only our family of 5 but are considering inviting 3 more. This is good to hear.

Did you spend time at the pool? We are always fans of the quiet pools and don't really hang out at the theme pools, but this one looks a little small.

We are looking forward to having our own bbq grill. We love to bbq at the pavilions in SSR but this seems even better as we aren't lugging our stuff out....wine tends to spill if you have too much else in your hands!

We went to the Vacation as You Wish pressentation in Boston a few weeks ago. We went there swearing we were not going to add on. We were going to go for a little Disney fix, some great information and for the kids to see the characters. Of course, wouldn't you know we added on 75 points at AKV. It is VERY VERY difficult to resist. I think I was brainwashed

I think we may have been sitting right behind you at the event! Did you go at 3p.m. on Thurs. July 2nd?
I family was in the front row (right in front of us) that stayed in the Treehouse Villas ... this would be some coincidence!

Anyway ... the same situation for us ... went for the party and the tour (both very nice) AND .... WE ADDED ON 200 POINTS!!!!!

We had NO intention of adding ANY points anytime soon! We were completely enthralled with the place ... AND ... we generally hate modern decor!
Anyway ... we're thrilled ... it really sells itself ... NOW ... we have to figure out how we're going to pay for this!

I have a thread going with the subject "Coming to you LIVE from OKW" ... what a small world!

Hope you guys are having a great time ... we are here until next Thursday.

No, we didn't feel cramped at all. We had 5 adults, 3 children (ages 8, 5, and 5) and 1 infant. The quiet pool is very small, but we did not go to it. Hope this helps!

Hey Dave. We were there on Wednesday the 1st and 7:00, so it wasn't us who you are thinking about!! We are in the same boat about trying to figure out how to pay for it!! We got there last Sunday and got home yesterday...enjoy the rest of your trip!!!

One rule I'm trying to follow with this add-on-itis disease... always hold off and get a second opinion. It's tough not to just take the meds when they're presented to you, but a quick consult with my favorite doc (the planning spreadsheet) usually sets me right.

... I can feel the addonitis shakes right now as a matter of fact... time to call up Doc. Excel.

Well.... I believe they get told things like this by managment to "push" the sales, but if you look at what they have filed as sold... they better have a good next couple of months to sell out by Sept!

We were also in Villa 7026! When did you checkout? I requested a villa between numbers 20-34 and was given in the middle! I loved our Villa...are you the one who turned down the refrigerator?

I should have listened to your warning. We also took the tour and had no intention of adding on whatsoever. In fact, I took the tour while dh stayed at the resort and baked by the pool. When I mentioned the tour the next day, he goes, "why didn't you add on any points?" I called our guide right away but he went away on a disney cruise so now I'm waiting very impatiently for him to come back so we can get started.

We were there, you were right behind us, we were sitting beside the group that was staying in the THV. The Wish Meister kept picking on me.....we fought off the urge to add on wanting BWV instead......Shawn

Although this post is a week late, we are in the same situation...Thank God!!!

Waaaaay back when we were all speculating about BLT (then unofficially CRV, I believe) my wife and I were considering this or VGC (as she is a DL fan). I was attempting to convince her to add on to VGC (DL is her favorite), but she wasn't buying it due to the cost. We went to the presentation on the last day of an outstanding WDW visit (the 10th), and I just sat back and let the mouse work his magic.

I told a tour leader (blue shirt) we were interested in looking at incentives for VGC but not sure about adding , so he whisked us away after a quick meet with Mickey for my DD3. We skipped the party, and took an impromptu tour with another family. Once finished, we met with a DVC guide, and he worked his magic . My wife not only agreed that we should add with VGC, but also BLT!!!

The morale of the story: Listen to the wisdom of this post or add on you will !!! This post (and a couple others) was very helpful, as I knew the warnings but she didn't . Now we have both of our dream resorts, and our honeymoon resort at SSR!
