Contract ID 3715444 is reportedly for readers of Car & Driver magazine

careful when pricing with this code!! It didn't include Free Unlimited Mileage:scared1: when i priced out a rental from Las Vegas to Anaheim today

not sure if it's because of a different drop off:confused3 only caught it after i had printed out my ressie; changed it in a hurry lol

know all of the other codes i tried DID include free mileage

while it would've been 1/2 the price; we would've gotten a big hit on $.40 a mile:rolleyes1

I just tried it with pick up and return at MCO, and it says it has unlimited mileage (and an additional driver). Gotta love the way the rental companies ding you when you're picking up and dropping off at different locations!

did you get a rate approx 1/2 off? weird:confused:

as stated above, while i realize that different returns/drop offs usually "up" the overall price...

this was the only code of many i plugged in that had

"0 miles" as opposed to unlimited

You have to price one way rentals. Companies frequently either limit free mileage, charge a drop fee or black out many discounts.

I ran into that in Dec. returning a car i picked up @ MCO to TPA.

just odd that none of the other codes i plugged in (as on mousesavers) defaulted to the 0 Free Miles; $.40 per mile:confused3

Most of the rates returning to same site in LAS avg less than $40 a day; the rates to ANA/California are high (nearly $100 day w/o discounts). Not sure if result of "1 way rental surcharge"...perhaps an issue with dropping a car in California as to emissions/certain type of car?

glad 1 have a free day coming on National:thumbsup2

Can anyone use this contract ID number?

I ran it through the National site and it gave me a better rate then anything else I can get for our trip in Feb. I have not booked it yet however. Any feedback on my ability to use this is greatly appreciated.

By the way when I put down picking up the car at the airport (in Orlando) and returning it to the airport it showed unlimited miles.

Thanks again.

Most agencies in Florida let you rent from one location and drop off at another without any extra fees. At one time that was required by law, not sure if it still is.

I did a one way rental from PHX to LAS and had to shop the rates.

I have used it many times without issues. I think OP's problem is one way=no unlimited miles. This is true for most rental agencies.

not in necessarily in FLA, renting @ MCO, returning to TPA in Dec. mileage was unlimited; pre-code rates were the same:confused3

and as indicated in above post, it was the only code that reverted to "zero free miles"; just glad it doesn't seem to be doing the same for others...i'm not used to checking the free mileage provision

You are paying for miles because you are picking up and dropping off in different states. I had the same thing when picking up in GA and dropping off if FL. You can call national and ask for an unlimited miles rate. when I did this my rate went from $39 a a day plus $0.40/mile to $92 a day unlimited miles. At that rate it came out to about the same price at either rate.

thanks, i get what u r saying; just so weird that none of the other codes reverted to pay-by-the mile when they, too, are following the same path into CA from NV?

not sure if it's a fluke/glitch whatever...just didn't want anyone else to book thinking they have unlimited mileage.:goodvibes

thanks for the info as to calling National:thumbsup2 never thought of it
