*Warning, general rant!

Have you ever felt like computer problems ONLY happen to you?? I used to have a Yahoo email account until one day, when I typed in the password that i KNEW was right, it wouldn't let me log in. That was incredibly frustrating, as I keep important things in my email folders. After MANY emails back and forth to the Yahoo computer-techie-help-thing (from another email address), I finally deleted the account and started a new one. A couple of months later--- THE SAME THING!
Finally, I just dropped Yahoo altogether and now use Gmail. BUT! Last night, the SAME THING HAPPENED. I wanted to cry! All I could say to DBF was...why does this ALWAYS, ALWAYS, happen to me??? Why??? I don't go on dangerous websites (unless the Dis counts!), and with this account, I've been SUPER careful not too sign up for anything dumb.
I've also had Facebook issues-- like all of my information, and pictures, and friends being deleted from my account. Completely. That stunned the Facebook folks haha.
So my rant is over. I'm just very upset. If Gmail ends up not working out, I don't know what free email I can use now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly, once I can see, but several times on different sites? Are you sure someone isn't getting your paswords and messing with you?

I change min eall the time, just because it happened to me

Don't you just "love" the world of "passwords"?

Since I have to have so many different passwords for things on my computer, I have to keep them written down in a notebook since it isn't safe to always use the same "one"..

However, in your case it sounds like someone is messing with you - or worse yet, someone has hacked into your computer - or you have a nasty virus.. Is there someone you know who is sharp with computers that could check this out for you? That would drive me nuts!!

That must be very frustrating.

I can recommend hotmail if you want a new web-based email. I've had the same address for over 10 years, no problems, plus hotmail gives me virus protection and filters out lots of nasty stuff.

I feel your pain! This has happened to me twice in the last 2 years with our email provider, PTD (Penn Tele Data). It just wouldn't accept my PW, the same one I had always used, and I knew also that I had not changed it, even accidentally. Both times I called they were able to re-set it, however they were so condescending - insisting I must have changed it. I think I'd remember it if I did thank you very much! TOTAL frustration!

well, when you get something for free.... you get what you paid for.
that or, look to the one constant value in all the occurences. You, or was it the same computer for each incident as well? But it is not hard to remember a password, so I have no idea what you could be doing wrong.?.?.?....
