We were on Men in Black and the ride stopped. The girl in the front row decided to get out of the seat. An announcement was made that the ride would start in a few moments so she tried to get back in. All of a sudden security guys came by. They went over to her and started to tell her it is dangerous to get out of seat, etc. and when get off ride they have a few questions for her. When she got off the ride they took her off into a little room and you can see there were a few security guys with her and her party of 2. I went and got my stuff out of the locker and I see them coming with about 4 security guys. They made her and her party leave the park. Just wanted to warn people that no matter what, when the ride breaks down, don't try and get off. They must have cameras everywhere if they saw her getting out of seat.

Obviously, what she did was very dangerous - with all those aliens and laser guns she could have easily been killed.

All kidding aside, how old was she? If she was a little kid, then booting her from the park seems severe. But if she was not a little kid, then she better have had a pretty good excuse for getting out of the vehicle (e.g., she panicked; she mistakenly thought the ride was over; etc.). I wonder if security thought that she had some mischievous intent. Or maybe they figured if she was that dumb, she'd probably get herself killed at the park later in the day.

One more question, were the security guards dressed like MIB agents? Sorry, can't help it sometimes.

I was on Spiderman a few days ago and the ride broke down for about 10 minutes. Anyway I was in the 4th row and the kid in the second row is freaking out. He keeps asking me and other people are you scared or are they going to come and get us out. Then I see him start to stand up and I could tell he was afraid. I told everyone to just stay seated and they will get the car fixed in a few mintues. Anyway he sat back down and the ride restarted in the usual way it does. The experience was ver cool and I actually learned more about the ride with it broken(after the ride restarted no sound or any effects worked) All of the tourist were mad, but I really enjoyed the experience.

I know what it feels like for someone on a ride when it breaks. It can be scary especially for a little kid on MIB. I have even wanted to get out before, but I never do. I just start talking to other people or sleep. This kind of reminds me when someone gets out of Dudley Do-right. Now that is a big deal. For that they have to drain the whole ride and evacuate it. And then the person who got out is usually kicked out of the park and either banned or fined. Not a good thing.

or she can't speak/understand english.

That does seem to be severe, but maybe there was more to the story?

I have actually seen a lot of the cameras on MIB and hidden in the queue. One of the more poorly hidden cameras is on the ceiling in the loading area of MIB. It is hanging from one of the holes in the ceiling that hold the big lights. If you find it it really looks out of place.

There is absolutely no excuse for getting out of your seat during a ride stop on MIB. Even if you don't speak English, it is obvious that the ride isn't over because the lapbars are still locked and down. You would have to work hard to slide out from under the lapbars. Also you would see all the other cars stopped and see that no one else was getting out. If you blatantly ignore the safety rules, then you deserve to be escorted out of the park.

The girl could have been severly injured or even killed and she also put other guests in danger. If she was extremely young, then where were her parents and why didn't they stop her? If she was a teenager, she should have known better.

There are cameras everywhere on that ride and when someone tries to get out or does get out, they have to do an E-stop. After an e-stop they have to reset the computers and cycle the ride which takes quite awhile. Meanwhile everyone else has to wait in line for quite awhile before the ride is up and running again after the e-stop. Yep, she deserved to be kicked out of the park.

You should never jump off a ride, EVER! Even rides like the Caro-seuss-el have people jump off, and then that ride has to E-stop and the ride is delayed. Jumping off of a ride at any time is violating safety. It says on your admission ticket that you have to follow all safety rules. Getting kicked out of the park for jumping off of a ride is legit.

The girl was actually in her late teens. She was with a lady who might have been her mother and another boy older than her. The teenage boy was joking that they should get out and push and that is when the girl tried to get out. Teenage stupidity on her part.

When I was at grad night at Disney back in '89, a guy I knew lit up a joint and right away the ride stops. I couldn't see what was going on since it was a few cars ahead of me, but he flicked the joint off into the ride somewhere and the worker found it. They took him and his partner off the ride. What was funny is that the ride worker "lost" the joint, so they let him go.

So yep, they are watching you!

And boy, do they watch those security cameras! We were at IOA in June, waiting to ride Dueling Dragons. The ride loaded, and started to leave the station. All of a sudden, both cars stopped for a good 10 minutes. Then the announcements started - apparently someone got all buckled in, and once the coasters started moving they pulled out their cell phone! Security saw it and immediately stopped the ride. Announcement after announcement - don't pull out a cell phone or camera once the cars leave the station. How can people be so stupid? The call can't wait until the ride is over? And if they wanted to take a picture during the ride, why risk losing your phone or camera? Those coasters are wild!

I called my wife from the Montu at Busch Gardens. She listened to my hole ride. The people next to me bought the ride photo just because it had me holding the phone to my head and they thought it was funny.

We were on Splash Mountain last year when it had an emergency stop (apparently a sensor triggered that someone was out of the car but it was a false alarm). They announced why the ride was stopped & instructed everyone to sit tight but, even if they hadn't repeatedly done that, it would have been obvious to anyone that you should do as everyone else was doing & patiently wait. Some people just don't think before they act!

No one would have found it funny if your phone had become a flying missile during the ride. Not cool.

I do not want to appear dumb, but why do they drain the whole ride on Dudley Do-Right if they find the missing person?? I can understand it if they are afraid the person might be in the water, but if the person is visible do they still drain it all...thanks... :sunny:

I wasn't go to lose it.

No one thinks they are going to lose their cellphone or camera but it happens all the time. You were lucky; others have not been so lucky.
