I just got off the phone with a cm to confirm this! Disney now calls Brown Derby and Le Cellier a signature restaruant which mean it is equal to Two meals on the plan! But they removed Alfredos from the signature list. This is making me rethink about the true value of the dinning plan. I don't like this! :earseek:

I think with new change, I am not going to do the dinning plan. Now all my favorite sit down places are now equal to 2 meals, not one. The value for me is not worth losing my room only discount that I booked 2 months ago to get the dinning package with a rack room rate.

I vote for the DDE plan. Being an AP holder already, this seems to be the best deal at 50 dollars. If I each 9 nights either lunch, dinner, or breakfast, I will save around 110, -50 dollars for the cost which still comes out ahead. This is going to be my option!!

Oh crumbs...

I should have known it was too good to be true... I just bought my package yesterday and Le Cellier and Brown Derby were what really made me make the decision to do the dining package. This is the third time now that I have bought something from Disney and they have changed their terms after they have taken my money. I have to admit it's a little frustrating. It's really kind of amazing that they can keep doing things like that and I keep going back for more. I don't think I would take that from many other businesses. Actually I know I wouldn't. Something like that happened with a car I bought once. The "package" changed before I accepted delivery but I made sure that I got what I originally paid for.

In all fairness though I am not going until May. I could still cancel the package. Oh well.

I'd decided already that the Dining Option--if it meant rack rates for rooms--wouldn't be worth it to us. But, when I was initially considering it, the TWO restaurants that made it seem worthwhile were LeCellier and Brown Derby. They're the only two we haven't tried yet because of trying to stay within out budget. Now, I feel less bad about foregoing the Dining Option.

I can understand why they have moved both Le Cellier and Brown Derby to signiture restaurants. The prices are definitely in keeping with the other signiture restaurants, and they fill very quickly. I am surprised it hasn't been this way before. Lets think about it.... an entree at either one will cost anywhere from $30 dollars to $40-some dollars, whereas somewhere like one of the buffets is going to be a flat price of $26, and places like Prime Time will have entrees for less than $20. I know it is a pain, but when it is broken down like that, it makes perfect sense!

Just remember that Disney is the one who prices the items. The dinning prices at Disney are really getting out of control. Why can't they just give their loyal customers a deal? I hate to say it but I am just not happy about all of this and Disney magic is turning out to be Disney greed. It is really sad.:(

Hi eeyore0062,

You are right, it does make sense and it is probably still a good deal really. I was actually surprised that they were selling the package that way and at that price. My only point is that they did sell me the package that way and at that price.

Then they changed the rules. I'm not fuming about it or anything, just disappointed.

I can definitely understand why you would be disappointed and even irritated. Unfortunately you had already made your plans when they decided to change things--- had you not, you would have just been like "oh well... ". I am sure it happens alot, and not just with Disney. Unfortunately, someone is always going to be caught in that situation but still, "Why did it happen to ME!!" :jumping4: :jumping4: :jumping4:

Well, I guess I don't feel so bad now being an AP holder and left out of the MYW dining. Le Cellier and Brown Derby are my two favorites - and though it would still be a "value" for me, not nearly as much as if they only took one sit-down credit. I guess the DDE it is!
