I think I read a post previously about someone requesting ME and then checked only to find out it wasn't on their reservation. Hmmm - so I checked and sure enough my information was not in my reservation. I know I gave all my flight info... So I gave it again. I will re-confirm in a few days to see if it stuck this time.

So if you haven't verified since originally reserving ME, call.

Vicki

Always a good idea to confirm. I'm sure your post will save some headaches.

:earsgirl: :earsboy:

I had something very similar happen. I was told that they did not have my flight information. I gave this information to CRO several times. Seems like they have more then one database and they are not always working together. The informaton is in the CRO database, not the ME database. :confused3 The representative I spoke with was very nice and told me he would make the call to obtain my information so I didn't need to call back if I didn't hear back from him. I haven't heard back from him so I am assuming he was able to get it from CRO, but I will be calling back anyway to verify. You know what assuming does. :teeth:

Thanks for the heads up. I just called DME and they didn't have our flight info either. Glad I called! The man I spoke with said if we don't receive our tags by next Friday, May 6th (our flight is the 11th!) to call back. Alrighty then. I hope we get them sometime next week. From the sound of the posts on this board, I don't think I'll get my hopes up. LOL

After reading this post I decided to call yesterday. I had already called CRO and Disney Dining a week or so ago to reconfirm all my reservations and PS#. At that time she verified my flight information for DME also. Yesterday as soon as I gave the lady (Beatrice) my name she immediately said yes they had my information. There is no way she could have checked that quick, because she barely gave me time to get my last name out and didn't ask any questions as far as my reservation number or flight number, before she quickly hung up. She did take just enough time to say if I didn't get my tags not to worry about it and just find the CM in the navy jacket and white Mickey gloves and he would find my luggage. I was not happy with the call at all, as she was so abrupt and irritated sounding.

Anyway I just called back and got a very nice lady (Debra) who did take the time to get my reservation number. Sure enough they didn't have any of my information for DME :earseek: . She said I probably would not receive my tags as just too many people were using DME and they couldn't get them out. I told her I had read on some of the forums where they were being sent out by Fed Ex or Express Mail and she said yes some were, but there was just too many and it looked like they had decided to quit doing it and just wait and let the CMs in the airport find the luggage. She said to just give the CM the airport luggage receipt and they would 'have to try to match them up at the baggage carousel'. She was very nice, but sounded very frazzled and unsure. I asked her to put a request in to Fed Ex mine and she said she couldn't and that they couldn't just pick and choose, but she was 'fairly certain everything would be OK'. I don't feel good about this at all. I leave May 13th and hope some reviews are out by then. It looks like I may be scheduling a town car afterall (at least for the trip to the resort). They sound like they are completely overwhelmed.

You should always try to get written confirmations of everything.

There is a rumor that some room reservations (room-only) don't receive written confirmations. Ask again for a written confirmattion and the name of the person who gave oral confirmation if you don't get it in writing (baggage tags count as it) when you expect it. If you still don't get confirmation you can expect that they will still transport you or re-imburse you for alternate transportation should a dispute occur.

No tags? You can always check the baggage :normally" and get the baggage from the carousel at Orlando yourself.

bellarella- DME #: (866)599-0951 He asked for my resort reservation number so they could look me up. He had all our ressie info there, just no flight info.

aubriee-The man I spoke with was friendly, but I could tell he was frustrated and overwhelmed. I said to him, "I know it must be crazy for you guys right now." He kinda laughed/sighed and said "Yeah, it really is..."

Thanks for the info.

Has anyone received written confirmation for DME with a room-only ressie??

I have a room only ressie, arriving the 10th. They have sent me 3 confirmation letters and no mention of Magical express on any of them. Of course when I call they say that I am signed up. I tried calling the number for ME, but after the initial answer (press 1, press 2, etc) it rang for over 5 minutes so I hung up and will try later.

My concern now is that ME may be unprepared for all the people arriving who signed up for ME and was never in their system. And will the buses wait for those who have to retrieve their own bags, that can be an hour. I am brave and will just pack a carryon but this is really crazy. I do wish it was on my resort confirmation.

DisneyDreamer2, I'm in the same boat as you. I called ME yesterday and I just sat there and did work at my desk while it rang and rang. Finally someone answered. And, again, they confirmed my ME reservation even though I have nothing in writing that mentions it. I'm going to make my own ME tags out of yellow card stock and write everything on them, then I am going to write down my claim check numbers after I check my bags at the airport, so I'll have a record of them.

As I mentioned previously (maybe in this thread or another ME thread) I have a room-only reserveration and have no written confirmation I am signed up for ME. I verified with CRO that I am signed up for ME. I got through to an ME person today and I was not in their system, so he pulled down my info from the reservation system but my flight info didn't transfer so I had to give him my flight numbers. It turns out there is another system -- the one used by the folks in New York who are printing and shipping out the ME tags. The ME person assured me if I'm in the CRO system, then I should be in the New York system, but there is no way for him to verify that. I do think it's a good idea for everyone in this situation to call the ME number and make sure they have your flight info.

I also sent email to Disney to suggest that they include ME confirmation info on the resort confirmation and the online reservation info for room-only reservations to eliminate confusion and reduce calls to their CRO line. If you want to join the cause, here is the URL for the Disney website page where you can submit feedback. Maybe if enough people do this, they will update their systems to include ME info.

Ok I called again and got through. I spoke to a wonderful ME rep named Ray. At first he had an old cancelled reservation datesthat didnt show as cancelled in his system.

He then found my current ressies but no flight info! After I verified it with CRO 3x. he said the computers are having problems transmitting that info (wonderful! so they really have no idea when people are arriving or departing, just dates)

Anyway he took my flight numbers and told me "NOT TO EXPECT TAGS OR A BOOKLET". He then told me to put a purple bow on my bags and just find the Cm with Mickey Hands just past secuirity and they will direct me to the welcome center and would retrieve my bags with my claim ticket. I'm just going to take carry ons.

He was very nice and was very excited about Magical Express and said someday He'll look back on all this and laugh. I told him that will probably be a long time from now and he laughed too.

I feel better knowing the ME CMs are at least very kind and wanting to help.
