I just wanted to let everyone know, though my warning is probably too late for this year, that Tony's offeres a 'modified' dining menu during lunch in Spetember. Translation - if you're paying oop, don't bother to eat here. Even if you're on the dining plan, you could do better.
We were surprised when we were handed the menu for Tony's that the menu items I had seen online were not on the menu. There were only two menu entrees that were under $15 (white pizza $12 and baked ziti about the same price), the rest were closer to $20 (rolatini $19.50, spagetti w/meatball $18.50, strip steak $24 - I think)
In my mind, the food was not worthy of the prices either. The kid's mac n cheese was the same as what they serve in the Quick service places. Not the real cheese mac-n cheese they used to serve all over WDW, but the orange, pasty, from-a-box kind. The ziti was modest scoop of noodles with a meat ragu. Not fresh made noodles - from-a-box noodles. I've had better food at a pot luck dinner, and that's not saying much. I hate pot luck dinners. We also ordered the eggplant, it was three small rolatini over basic spagetti. Again, nothing worthy of a $20 price tag by a long run, IMHO. I can get better rolatini from the freezer case in my local grocery store - and more of it.
Alas, you'd think for these prices you'd at least get good service and bread. But this was not the case either. The service was disjointed, despite three staff members that mostly stood nearby talking to each other the entire time we were eating (never did figure out what their job was), and another lady who walked around asking survey questions. When I asked if there was any bread available I was told, "No. the only bread we have are the kind of garlic bread sticks they have at Olive Garden." At least at Olive Garden you get a bottomless salad to go with them....the Entrees at Tony's didn't come with any sides. At least our waiter was honest.
