Warning about Storytellers breakfast

Or anyone thinking about a late breakfast at Storytellers, be warned that the characters are long gone by a little after 11. We had an 11:00 reservation and barely got to meet 3 characters and those were rushed. We also couldn't order a la cart because they were changing over to lunch. Which was our first reason for dining there. Two adults with small kids makes buffets not fun.

We had this happen on our last vacation. Granted, it was our fault a bit considering we hastily booked it the night before to give us something to do before our 12:30 PM ride on the Disneyland Resort Express back to LAX. We had a 10:45 AM reservation or something like that, could've been 11 AM, I am not completely sure! I think we only saw Chip and then all the characters were gone almost as soon as we were ready to get up and fill our plates. It was dissapointing. We saw Dale, Meeko, Kenai, and Koda there at a distance before they went off-stage... but we didn't get them to sign our special T-shirts. We already had Chip & Dale's signatures! We were kinda bummed. I think they should put a disclaimer when you book the reservation at a time when they'd be leaving. It would relieve some complaining, I'd think. :confused3

Ugh, they are still doing that?

Yep, it appears so. To me, the characters should be out until the breakfast bar is closed and prepping for lunch. I think this might be the only character breakfast in the whole resort that takes away the characters before the official end-time of the buffet itself.

Thanks for the warning. I've heard this here before, but it is a good reminder. I would be so disappointed if this happened to us.

We complained and they gave us a free meal this morning and made sure all the characters came around. Before my husband even said what the problem was, they knew what we were going to say. They really need to fix this. Other people probably don't have the time to go back.

I'm glad to hear that they could make this happen for you guys! :thumbsup2

Yikes! Glad they were able to rectify it for you guys!

Does this happen at the other character meals as well, or is it specifically a Storyteller issue?

Thanks for the info. I just double checked our reservation and it's for 10:10. I wanted later but I guess it's a good thing I didn't get it.

We had breakfast at the plaza at 10:40 and had somewhat of a similar experience. When we sat down they told us to fill as many plates as we would need because they were getting ready to clear breakfast. We missed out on several of the offerings because we weren't fast enough. Then we had a mad rush of characters. We saw Minnie, hook, Peter Pan, pooh, tigger, and eeyore all within 10 minutes. While my kids were thrilled during that 10 minutes the characters immediately went off set. We were more fortunate than you in that we got to see all the characters, but we literally sat down, were told to fill plates, and then immediately bombarded by characters. Lucky my husband filled a couple plates while the kids were playing with pooh because as soon as the characters left the buffet was half empty. If they're going to clear the restaurant of food and characters at a certain time, I think the last reservation needs to be 30 or more minutes prior to that time.
