Just FYI, we had gone to Seaworld for the first time last year and had a frightening experience. We were back by the smaller childrens attractions and there is a large boat for the kids to play on. Being so used to Disney we assumed that there was only one way in and out of the attraction. About 5 minutes went by when my husband noticed my 3 year old daughter was no where in the boat. We then realized there was an exit on the back side of the boat!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Running around frantically we found my daughter wandering in the crowd after 5 LOOOOOONG minutes of searching!! Just wanted to let everyone know so this does not happen to anyone else!!! That is why we love Disney soooooo much!!!:lovestruc

Sorry about your experience. That has happened to me once and I swear it takes forever to get over something like that. Just the thought makes me go :scared1:

On a side not, that really can happen anywhere and yes even the precious Disney. There are many spots where kids can go in one side and out the other. Donalds boat for one has several sides to it and if you don't have your eye on them they can go in the boat and go tothe left or the right and before you know it>:guilty: Hope you enjoyed the rest of your Sea World stay. My Dh is getting tired of DW so we are spicing it up this year and adding in SW and Aquatica. Were there many height restrictions on the kids ride??

I see your point about it can happen anywhere, but on Donalds boat both of the openings are at the front of the attraction. I don't know if you have ever been to Seaworld but the boat I am talking about is twice the size of Donald's and the exit is completely on the other side where you can't even see it. Personally I was not impressed with Seaworld. The kids attractions were OK but half of them were not working. The height restrictions I think were about 36inches. They also had a HUGE sand box for the kids to play in. The sand box is a good thought but when it is 100 degrees and 100% humidity with sweaty kids it is the WORST idea ever. My daughter had sand stuck to her for the rest of the day. The main attraction with Shamu was also shut down. I don't think I will be going back anytime soon. But the day and the experiences just set the tone for the whole day. I am sure it is a GREAT place and I am sure you will have a great time.:thumbsup2

My dh lost my 5 y.o. dd in the nets while we were there...I told him not to let her go up there while I walked over to the food place to get us an early dinner to eat before we watched Shamu. I go get the food and call him on my cell and tell him to meet me at the tables and he tells me she's missing..I freaked out!! I left them alone for 15 minutes and he lost her. He said she ran from him and climbed up into the nets and our since our 5 month old was sleeping in the stroller so he couldn't go get her. I told him to go to the trailer/building with the 1st aid station in it that's behind the nets and report her missing than ran over there. of course it had to be the day she took off her I.D. Inside bracelet off and left it in the car on her seat! She was missing for a half hour before we found her wandering around crying near the nets. She just kept looking for us and we must've kept missing each other. It was soooooo scary. I was also quite angry when I realized she did not have her bracelet on, plus we always talked about going to someone who works at wherever it is that she might get lost at...but she forgot since she was so upset. I was so shocked that none of the employees stopped her to ask her what was wrong..I was also very happy that she didn't talk to any strangers....at least she remembered that. it was an experience I hope to never relive again!

I could feel my heart pounding & breathing quicken just reading your story. That is my worst nightmare & I am so glad you found her. It only takes a split second.

It was horrible. I was also mad at my dh for not calling me on my cell the minute she was missing.....here I am just waiting in line for food ho-hum and meanwhile my baby was missing. What was he thinking???

Lost my DS9 (he was 6 at the time) on the large net play area at SW. I could see him and told him to stay put...but by the time I had gotten to the place he was he had left.

My Brother found him on the other side...got the radio message when I was trying to manuver through a net tunnel against traffic. :headache:

That place is a mess...so many levels and ways enter and exit...If he hadn't got lost though...it was pretty fun and they seemed to have allot of staff working the areas though.

I was watching my 18 month old ds while he played on the little slide in the playground at AK. I was sitting at the bottom of the slide and he would go around the side, up the steps and down again. One time he goes around the corner of the 3 foot high mound the slide comes down but he doesn't come to the top of the slide. About 30 seconds go by since I saw him so I stand up to see where he was....and he was nowhere to be seen! I start walking around the slide, the little jeep they have there, through the caves that the water drips down outside of (and I am a big guy to go through those caves!). Now about 5 minutes has passed and I am relatively sure he didn't leave the playground because there is only one entrance and a CM is standing there but I am starting to panic. So I make the dreaded call to my wife who is with my older ds's and tell her "I can't find the boy!":confused3 The next second my brother comes down the steps of the huge slide/net complex holding him. He had somehow gone around the jeep where I couldn't see him and headed up the steps by himself...right past a CM who had to have watched him going and known he was too small to do that! I lost a little faith in CM's that day, not that it is there job to help me watch my kids but "it only takes a second".

2 weeks ago, I lost my nephew in the Jurassic Park play area at Islands of Adventure, and I freaked. We got seperated when he ran ahead of me, and I though he went down a slide. So I went down the slide, and found myself alone at the bottom, and I had no idea how to get back to the spot where I last saw him! I didn't see him anywhere.

It took me almost 10 minutes to finally see him crossing on a rope bridge above, after I spent a frantic 10 minutes running through every cave, tunnel and rope ladder calling his name, but never passing him. I probably didn't need to freak as he is 13 years old, and old enough to find a worker if he needed help. But he is special needs (has a rare genetic syndrome), so I usually always cast a watchful eye and never lose sight of him. I expected to find him crying, but he was fine, just a bit annoyed at me!

We used it as a learning experience - we discussed if we get seperated again, he should just keep playing in the same area (not leave the attraction) and one of us will find him!

Wow, that scares us. Thanks for taking time to share your experience, so that we will be aware. Thanks again.

Have a nice day. :)
