Warning about MAN

Hi thought id share this, a lady on one of my groups on facebook is in Florida now and had her card cloned in WH Smiths in MAN she didn't find out until she was in Florida! luckily she is with family who are able to help her out but you may want to take cash to use at the airport! x

That's awful, did she lose much? Surely these shops must have a legal right to protect their customers, she should be able to sue for this????

I second this! Also at MAN in 2009, I upgraded our seats at check in, and had to go to a different desk to pay. The terminal was (apparently) not working so they took my card and came back with card and receipt and we went on our way. It was the only time the card had been out of my sight. When we got back my bank alerted me that there had been attempts to put through several transactions over the course of a few hours, all in the hundreds. You just can't be careful enough!

You can't really sue for it. The simple solution is to let your bank's fraud dept. deal with it. They will prosecute if they see fit but really not worth getting into the hassle of it.

I'm not sure if she did loose alot but her bank are dealing with it! Not a great start to a holiday though
