JMHO but there are too many threads that warn about evoiding EMH nights. I think that everyone has to keep in mind which season it is. We are going during January and you can bet that if it coordinates with our schedule, we will definitely be at EMH nights. I think that with how busy it was this summer and with the free dining, that EMH might have a bit of a distorted view. Just my .02 :goodvibes

I agree with you. I was just there last week, and the EMH at Magic Kingdom was GREAT! BUT, I will say that I am thankful for those warning us against doing it in the summer. I would be so mad after finally getting to a park only to find it swamped!

You're right. During several times of the year I wouldn't touch evening EMH with a 10 foot pole! But I don't want people missing out on what could be a great night with low crowds and wait times!

While e have never been there for the EMH in the evening, we were big supporters of the Extra Magic Hours when it was just in the mornings. Lots of people said it made the parks extra crowded etc. We always went right when the parks opened, rode all of the big rides multiple times (or like in MK did ALL of the fantasy land rides multiple times) and were thrilled. We do go in Jan so I think the cold mornings might turn some people off. Anyway we plan on going this Jan anddefinately doing the EMH in the AM. Probably will try some PM hourse just to see whats neat.

How would you estimate crowds for Feb 1-7? First timer here...

February starts to get busy because of so many schools having Feb. Break. It should still be fairly quite. The second week it will start to get busier.

Thanks for this thread - this is what I've been thinking all along....we go in late October. For those who have been recently, can you give us any strategy. We plan to head to MK 4 or 5ish, 6:30 ADRs and do parade and fireworks. Would like to go to Splash and BTM - is right after the fireworks a bad time.

I am going in early October, and I have not given up hope on evening EMH. I can see why they don't work in the summer, Disney has about 30,000 hotel room and the average daily attendance at the Magic Kingdom is about 16,000. If every hotel room is full, probably with a family, dumping that many rooms into a single park is going to be a mess. Morning EMH are a bit different. A lot of people are not that interested in getting up early while they are on vacation.

Thanks. I am trying to work out where we want to be in the evenings so that I can make dinner plans. I want to be ready to make ADR's when the time comes.

Wow, who ever said you can never begin planning too early was right. A lot goes into planning a disney vacation!

I would definitely try it. Besides, even if the lines are long, you can still enjoy the ambiance and you will learn not to go again that time of year. We did evening EMH in MK last April and the lines were super long so Dh and I just enjoyed walking around. We spend some time just sitting on Main St watching the castle and then headed to the Exposition hall taking pics in the back..

It was fine for us (surprisingly) early September but as others have said, I would never attempt it during a busy time. E nights were a much better idea! :goodvibes

Absolutely true!!! I did EMH nights in mid-June and then in early Aug..both were really crowded. But, it will be a different scenario in Oct. People tend to get all worked up without remembering what season it is. Sure, Food and Wine Festival is going on but that tends to attract an older crowd. Then you have MNSSHP that attracts families but those nights won't have EMHs. If you are going in Sept, Oct and early Nov those EMH nights shouldn't be nearly as crowded as during vacations periods.
