WARNING about Disney VISA

Who knows what will happen with anyone's jobs after the merger ! When we merged from First Card/First USA to Bank One it took about 4 years for everything to come together so we'll have to wait and see, but it is exciting to be getting together with such a big bank like Chase.

Hi,
Since we are all talking credit cards amoung friends could I ask your advice?

Last year I had been turned down for the disney visa. With that, i had my credit report checked, and found that someone had stolen my SS number and was taking cards out in my name. A year later, that is almost all the way cleared up, and I was recently approved for a car loan. Do you think my credit will be good enough to get a disney card now? i only want a card that I can totally pay off each month without penalty...is there a better card out there for me??? your advice is welcome and helpful, should i reapply? thanks

Hi Billwendy! I am so sorry to hear about your social getting used, it's sad that someone will take that information and use it for their own personal gain! But I am also glad to hear you have gotten most, if not all of it cleared up, in my opinion you can try to apply for the Disney Visa, Bank One goes by your current credit status as well as what else is out that you have as far as credit. They will look at whats happened in the past but they will see that your social was stolen. It's not based only on what you currently have as far as credit cars and car loans, etc. but that's one of the things that they look for.

I personally think the DV is a good card to get, you can actually have any visa and pay it off in full each month without penalty. Bank One does have a cash back credit card as well (it's 1%) if you think that might be better for you. I personally like both cards but I like the DV since it has the Disney look , I know it's kind of dumb! But I like it. I would look at bankone.com under credit cards to see if its the best for you, there are a ton of different types of cards.
