Warning a SPOLIER POST! At Worlds End: comments, questions??

Let me just start by saying that I am a HUGE pirates fan but wanted my money back after seeing this movie.
Was Jack the main character or Elizabeth? I swear she was in every single scene. I was getting sick of her.
Not enough Jack!!!
It did not have the humour i have xome to love from the first two movies!!!!
The sountrack was not as good and the storyline way confusing!!
It is my opinion that will is destined(touch of destiny) to captain the fluying dutchman for all eternity with one day on land every 10 yrs.
The whole reason Jack wanted to be captain was so he would be immortal and captain forever.
Its beacause of this that i did not like it. Will and Elizabeth were supposed to be together forever. Makes me:guilty:

Saw the movie this afternoon and waited for after the credits. Totally worth it. Need to go back to see it again! Loved, Loved, Loved it!

I have read this entire thread and my only question.....Is the young boy in the beginning of the film with the "peice of eight" supposed to be Will and Liz's son 10 years later?

i just got back from seeing the movie and i wondered about the boy too.

ok i love  this movie!!! as far as not having the humourus side to it...i think it did.

the whole thing with jack not killing the heart, i think, was so out of character. yes he wanted to live forever, however when he saw that will was dying and that elizabeth and will would not be together anymore, he made a choice for them to be able to be together.

i thought it was sort of odd that in this movie Jack was a little philisophical(sp?) in a way. that was strange, but i think it gave a big twist to his character and showing a softer side to the pirate.pirate:

How could that be their son if Beckett is to be dead? They look similar, but I don't think they are to be the same person. Besides two different actors played each child.

You're right. Also the whole thing with them singing the song was the call for all the Captain's to reiunite, so that first scene definitely was not in the future. I looked carefully at the two boys they're definitely not the same person.

Tia made a remark to Davey while she was locked in the brig. She reached out her hand and touched him, briefly turning him back into a man. Then she said, ".....but you have no heart to bring to me". That has to be twisted into the curse/legend sequence of events somehow....

Well, I think it had a lot to do with 1) the fact that Jack has been dead and 2) what Jack's father said to him about "it's not living forever that matters, it's being able to live with yourself". Jack knew that if he stabbed the heart himself, he would in effect be killing his one good friend, Will. He couldn't live with himself if he did that, so he decided not to live forever in favor of being able to live with himself.

As for why Jack seems philosophical, he was DEAD for goodness sake! You don't die and then come back unchanged. I think his time in Davy Jones Locker kinda made him realize that actions do have consequences and some things are bigger and more powerful than Jack Sparrow.

yes i agree with you. i was thinking all that last night, but i didn't have the energy to type that all at 2 am!

I think you totally get the movie.:) Perhaps this should be broadcasted to the nay-sayers that don't like it and don't get it. I think this movie's plot is deep and meaningful, and shows character growth, which IMHO makes a great movie.

yeah i think there were too many things that happened in the first two movies that the characters had to grow. they had to make adjustments and changes. i think they did a really good job of showing that.

We went to see the movie this afternoon. I thought it was good- long but good. I like the idea that Will is being released from the Dutchman. I also thought the child might be a girl.... And Jack and Barbosa are both headed for Florida.... I hope there's a fourth.

i just feel so sorry for will and Elizabeth. It has made me so mad!!! Toatally has ruined the forst two movies for me cause if I watch them together Im just gonna be heartbroken thinking they wont be together. It would have been better maybe if Will had actually died. Now as it stands he is stuck with this job for all eternity and will get to see his wife and child what maybe just a few times before they die it just ruined the whole trilogy for me they were suppossed to be together forever and ever. Guess its just the hopeless romantic in me it makes me so sad to think about it. What kind of life is that for Elizabeth waiting for the next 10 yrs to roll around. Its not just the ending I had problems with the whole movie especially not seeing Jack that much. It was all about Elizabeth.and there were some major holes in the plot and storyline which gets on my nerves in any movie. the whole Calypso thing was a really good concept but was poorly done. I would have liked to see Davey Jones and her reconcile in some way. I expected that after watching the 2nd movie. I felt like there was so much crammed in there that there was no time to truly develop the story. The multiple Jack thing was stupid and seemed desperate. I am a HUGE fan of the attraction and the films. POTC the black Pearl is probably my favorite movie (or was) but this one was awful.

There has been talk on this thread and a few others that the curse is broken after 10 years because Elizabeth showed up. Now they will be together! Apparently, there writers have said there was a cut scene that better explained that. You may just have your happy ending after all! pirate:

I sure hope so!

To me, just seeing each other every 10 years is NOT a good ending. Will dying isn't good, either, but who wants to  engage in marital relations  just once every 10 years??? Even with Will.

Somehow, my dd got the impression from the movie that Will was back for good since Elizabeth showed up. I hope so, otherwise it's quite depressing.

Prior to dissolving into a swarm of crabs, Calypso shouts an incantation which in the script reads: "Malfaiteur en Tombeau, Crochir l'Esplanade, Dans l'Fond d'l'eau!". This roughly means "Across all the waters, find the path to he who wrongfully entombed me", evidently referring to Davy Jones.

What did Calypso say when she was big? I could not for the life of my understand what she was saying.

I enjoyed it. I was glad that they tied up loose ends, but also left it open for future sequels too.

And I am SO glad that they brought back Barbosa! I think he's my secocnd favorite, after Jack, of course.
