hi, Our next holiday to the world will be this October and we'll be staying one night in AKV (late arrival around 9 pm), two nights in BLT and ten nights in BWV. Because we'll have a very long flight (from Europe) behind us, I wasn't planning on touring the parcs the second day (the day we check out from AKV and need to check in into BLT), but rather simply hanging out at the pool and water splash area of AKV. Now I was wondering, are there showers with warm water and dressing rooms at the pool of AKV (Kidani)? Because if we can't change back into proper clothes and feel refreshed, I'd better put myself on the waitlist for BLT to minimise moving around. We decided on AKV for the first night because of the low point cost, but mainly because of the water splash area which i really want to try (I could have said which i really want my daughter to try, but then i'd be lying :rotfl:)

Don't know about Kidani, but generally as a resort guest you can access the gym area and use the shower facilities there too. I think the gym is at at Kidani pool. (I've only visited the Kidani pool area as I've only stayed on the Jambo side of the resort.)

Kidani imho has some of the nicest shower facilities to be found among the DVC resorts. The gym is at the 'top' of the path going down to the pool at Kidani. It overlooks the splash play area. The building is split into two with a breezeway between the gym and the men's/women's shower & dressing areas. There are also coin operated lockers in the breezeway if you need to safely store any items.

Note - there is only one shower at Kidani in each changing room, but it's large, clean and beautiful. The Jambo gym has double showers from what I understand as well as a steam room.

Every DVC resort has a shower area where you can get changed on your first or last day when you don't have a room. As previously posted, these are usually at the gym.

I don't like the Kidani fitness center changing rooms as well as those at other resorts. As twinklebug stated, there is only one shower so if you get there at the wrong time you may have to wait a while. The bigger issue for me is that there are no lockers inside the changing rooms so there is no place to lock up your stuff in the changing room before stepping into the shower. If it's your last day and you want to shower before heading to the airport and have your handbag and other valuables with you, you have to step outside to lock them up and you will need quarters for the locker. The other changing rooms have several lockers in the room and they are free.

Ladies Room: There are three showers with there own changing area. They are located in the bathrooms near the pool and next to Mara. This is a huge bathroom must be at least 20 bathroom stalls. Then at the end there are three large showers each with its own changing area. Private, Clean and quiet. They always have a basket of fresh towels too. So nice for my daughter and I to have our own showers and just pass shampoo and soap under. Hubby said Men's room is very nice too. :thumbsup2

YES.

They are way in the back though; only serious curiosity helped me find that area while using the restroom! I would never have known that all of that was back there if I hadn't really looked.

My husband said there wasn't anything like that in the Men's...but it's possible he just didn't want to poke around enough. :)
