I bought tickets for my DH and his best Eagles buddy to see the playoff game against the Falcons tomorrow night. It's supposed to be REEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYY cold!!! Artic temps, acutally! My DH is very warm-blooded, but I'm a "worry-wife" and I want his toes to be warm. Does anyone know of some super-warm socks I can pick up for him tomorrow before the game?

Thanks!
Kara

PS - Go EAGLES!

I live in Manitoba so you'd think with our cold weather (currently our weather forcast reads: "Very cold wind chill minus 36. Frostbite likely in minutes.") that I'd have a really great answer, but I don't really know. Actually, I'll probably be reading this thread later to see what others are suggesting. What I've found so far works well is to of course layer 2 pairs, such as a liner and then a nice thick pair. Wool is supposed to wick water away from the feet I believe though I just use a fuzzy pair of regular socks. For liners though, I do have a great pair of Sorel liners which are nice. And then of course there's always battery heated socks! :teeth:

Thanks so much for the tips!!!!!! You guys are the best!!!!!!!!

Oh wow , he's going! AWESOME!!

I hope he stays warm, its gonna be bitter!

GO BIRDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kara, you're wise to think of this actually. DH was a season ticket holder with the Bears for many years and, he ALWAYS said once his feet got cold, that was it, he was a goner! No amount of long underwear would help so, he always wore very warm socks (no particular brand) and, warm boots (usually his work boots).

Now, he's the expert I quote here but, avoid all cotton. I know it sounds warm & comfy but, if those same feet sweat for any reason, you've now got moisture right up against the skin and, freezing! He preferred some blended socks, little or no cotton. Again, just his experience. ;)

I'm sure DH will have a great time! ;)
