This may be a little early, but we are planning a trip to WDW, staying at Boardwalk, next December (first week). We love the BWV pool and are wondering if it is warm enough at that time of year to swim? Thanks
December weather is pretty unpredictable. We've had days where the high was in the 40s, and other days where it was over 80. On the other hand, the last time we stayed at the Boardwalk, the pool's water was really warm, almost like bath water. If that's still true maybe you'll be OK even if the weather's not great.

We stayed at BWV the second week of Dec '06. The first few days of the trip it was much too cold to swim. There was nobody in the pool and the pool bar was closed. By the third or fourth day, the weather was partly sunny and in the mid 70s so we went swimming. It was a little chilly on top of the pool slide due to the strong breeze but that made the water feel that much warmer on splash down. I would have preferred the pool to be a degree or two warmer, but it was OK. The hot tub was wonderful!
For Dec and Jan trips, I print out a forecast from someplace like accuweather.com the day before the trip and we make tentative plans for some pool time any day that the temperature is going to be 75 or above. The forecast will vary a bit from the advance forecast so we also try to catch the local weather on TV each night and adjust our schedule based on the temperature predictions. Spending some time in the pool is important to us, so we're willing to make last-minute changes to our plans to make sure we can take advantage of any days when the temperature is going to be 75 or above.
