Just watching the BBC and there's a big report on a possible invasion of Iran.

Triggering factors could include proof of an Iranian nuclear weapon, a major threat of attack from Iran or a major attack on US forces in Iraq.

Apparently US forces have readied themselves for an attack on Iran in anticipation of an order to attack; the strategy would focus around long range B-52 bombers eliminating bunkers and military targets; Tehran is a secondary target.

I've thought for a while if there was going to be an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities it would be Israel that did it-not the US. If I recall correctly, they've done it before.

Attacking Iran has been on the neocon's agenda for some time. According to the neocons, Iraq was suppose to be a cakewalk and following Iraq, we would be able to change the governments of Iran and Syria with no trouble.

The bushies are manufacturing a case to attack Iran based on the same gameplan used to sell the war in Iraq. The trouble is that people know that bush is a liar and so people do not belive the fixed facts and intelligence being used by bush to sell an attack on Iran.

Here is the BBC article that Rich mentioned. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6376639.stm
US contingency plans for air strikes on Iran extend beyond nuclear sites and include most of the country's military infrastructure, the BBC has learned.
It is understood that any such attack - if ordered - would target Iranian air bases, naval bases, missile facilities and command-and-control centres.

The US insists it is not planning to attack, and is trying to persuade Tehran to stop uranium enrichment.

The UN has urged Iran to stop the programme or face economic sanctions.

But diplomatic sources have told the BBC that as a fallback plan, senior officials at Central Command in Florida have already selected their target sets inside Iran.

BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner says the trigger for such an attack reportedly includes any confirmation that Iran was developing a nuclear weapon - which it denies.

Alternatively, our correspondent adds, a high-casualty attack on US forces in neighbouring Iraq could also trigger a bombing campaign if it were traced directly back to Tehran.

I'd bet on there being a decent chance of us helping Israel out if they went to resort to violence.

Exactly what he said..... It does not matter what the people want however, Bush will do what he The Dictator... Uh, I mean The Decider decides....

How many more days of this do we have? Somebody needs a countdown :sad2:

How many different ways can this administration be asked if they have plans to attack/invade and the answer be no??:confused3 Do people just want to believe it that badly??

There are people who will believe virtually anything as long as it reflects badly on this administration. However, this administration brought that upon itself. Remember the story of the boy who cried wolf? Lie too many times and nobody will believe you even if you do tell the truth.

Governments aren't always fully truthful and they cannot, no matter how hard they try, see in to the future.

we wont, but if we where serious about the war on terror we would
