Hiya folks! So we've to the world many times and I am beginning to work on our March (Mardi Gras) trip. I feel like we are kinda in a rut with eating places and want some new ideas. It's me, DH, DS (8) and DS (2- almost 3) at the time of trip. It's possible we'll have my BIL and SIL with us as well. Even possible that more extended family will go to, but I'll worry about that later. Here's some of the places we have been and our thoughts:

CM- always our first night place- really like this tradition, but I might could talk everyone into trying something new if cool.

Crystal Palace: Cluster- food is bad and organization is a mess, so we won't do this one ever again after several tries.

Donald's Breakfast: Our favorite every year for the interaction. Breakfast is pretty good, too. (I am not a BK person, but DH and kids are)

WCC: did this for the first time this year and really enjoyed it. Food was OK, but the waiter and all just made it. We may do this one again.

RFC: Always do this as DS' love it- will prob continue on our AK day- but can be moved to a DTD day or whatever

TRex- did this one this year and weren't not impressed. Like RFC more- prob skip it unless kids really want it and then we won't do both this and RFC

Hoop De- we haven't done this in several years, but DS (8) went when he was 3 and loved it. I know we love it and will for sure love it again. Depends on how good DS(2) is at sitting for periods of time by then.

Le Cellier: We really love this place, despite what others sometimes say. We'll probably keep this, but may try another steakhouse, if you can convince us!

O'Hana- By far, one of the best places ever!! Our DS (2) started to get restless, and that was a small issue for us only, but we otherwise loved this place!

I know there are other places, but I can't think of them now. I'm looking for good TS places. We won't be on DP, but will have TIW. Thanks in advance! I love the advice here!

Other than some of the places that you have mentioned, we love:

Mama Melrose--great service, wonderful food, comfortable atmosphere

The Wave--perhaps the best meal we've had at WDW ever! Not too stuffy for the kids, but a nice restaurant for the adults. Try the Agave margarita.

'Ohana breakfast--great food served family style so you don't have to get up and down to serve yourself from a buffet.

Teppan Edo--nicest staff on the planet, good food, entertaining for the kids

Cape May breakfast--our favorite character meal because of the laid-back, no-rush attitude

Two of my favorites are:

Jiko: At Animal Kingdom Lodge. Beautiful setting, great wine, and interesting choices for food (probably not for a picky eater, though).

Yachtsman Steakhouse: At the Yacht Club. Great steak, great service.

One of the things that I've found here on the Boards is that for everyone who LOVES a restaurant, you'll find an equal amount of people who HATE it. My experience with Disney restaurants is that they are not consistant at all. I used to love Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge. Then I had a horrible dining experience there: they went wrong every step of the way. My advise is to look at the official descriptions of restaurants and see what interests you. Look at reviews here on the Boards, but take the advice from anyone (including me) with a grain of salt.

You may not want to take my advice, since some of our favorites are places you didn't care for and some of our least favorites are your favorites. So we may have different tastes...:rotfl2:

That having been said, we love:

Biergarten (fun for all ages, good food, great entertainment, etc.)
Boma (very good food, not particularly entertaining, so may be less exciting for young kids)
Akershus (we found the food to be quite good, and I don't want to fall into the gender stereotypes just because you have sons, but I see it may be a less popular choice for them)
Wolfgang Puck Express (it's CS, but feels like TS after ordering and quite delicious, in my opinion)
San Angel Inn (very romantic and mystical, but also exciting for young kids to eat in what feels like a different time; we've always loved the food)
Teppan Edo (fun for the kids, good food, entertaining, a little "different" although the teppenyaki concept is pretty common outside WDW, so not as unique as the others)

Hope this is helpful. Have fun!

Thanks everyone! I am interested in Yatchman Steakhouse and Teppan Edo. I'll have to look them up and see. We may also try 'Ohana for breakfast- hmmmmm. We also will probably have a night to ourselves and do an adult place, but not V & A. We'll have to decide on that as well!

Biergarten - favorite buffet - schedule it a half hour before entertainment starts - kids will have fun

San Angel Inn - cool setting - good food

50's prime time - fun of kids - good food

Sci Fi - Our kids favorite - the setting can not be beat. The food is nothing amazing but what can be better for a kids than eating in a car.

Hoop de - kids love it.

Hi brandip22,
Sounds like you named some really good places to eat. For new restaurants the first one that comes to mind would be The Wave.

Others would be:

Sanaa
Grand Floridian Cafe
Kona
Rose and Crown

Hope that helps! Have a great trip and lots of fun planning. :thumbsup2

I'll throw in another vote for The Wave. I love the atmosphere there and the beef tenderloin was one of the best I have ever had. Another place we like is Fulton's Crab House. King crab claws = yummy:goodvibes
