My husband, my father and I took the tour at the end of February. We have been trying to decide if we want to buy "new" or a resale. I have been calling our guide for the last week with NO return phone call. I even called the regular 800# and they said "yes he is working today" and gave me his voice mail AGAIN. I've left about 4 messages.
Anyone else have this problem? We have a few final questions for him and then want the paperwork sent, but can't seem to get him to call back.

Thank you so much...from another NJer !! (we are in Hamilton, but my husband works in Plainsboro !!! Small world). If I don't get a call this morning I will call your guide.

Some prospective members have been told that DVC people are prohibited from making callbacks if they are on the "do not call" list. According to the reports, DVC claims they can't call certain people back even if the prospective member initiated the contact (i.e. left a voice mail or other message.)

If this is true, it doesn't matter which salesperson you go thru since they will all be bound by the same restrictions.

I'd suggest speaking to an operator / receptionist to explain that you've left multiple messages. Tell them you want to speak to a salesperson before hanging up the phone.

for those that sent me a PM. Thank you. For some reason my account is not letting me respond to PMs. Sorry. I have to figure it out.

Anyway. I finally got to speak with a NEW guide. He was great, gave me all the information that I needed. Now we are just settling on just HOW MANY points we need and SSR or AK. We are a family of 5, so we'll need at least of 1 bedroom, but most likely a 2 bdr because my father tends to vacation a few days with us. I think we are looking at about 350 points.

Does anyone know if we could do 160 at SSR and 190 at AKV with 2 seperate contracts? I forgot to ask him. I thought it would be better to own at both than just the one. Would we get the incentives for both places?

But I think I've seen that you can't pm until after you have at least six posts. Seems a strange number, but...

I think Disney will be happy to sell you however many points (at least 160 at one resort for the "master" contract) at as many resorts as you are willing to purchase. You only get the 11-month window at each resort, though, on the number of points that apply to that resort. (You could not use any SSR points to book at the 11-month window at AKV. You could use any or all points to book anywhere at the 7-month window.) Haven't heard of anyone noting whether they will double up on the incentives. Don't know why not, but...better ask your guide.

A few months ago I tried to do an add on with and my guide never returned my calls after leaving messages for over 3 weeks

I took advice received on the DisBoard and called and requested a new guide
and she is great and always gets back to me.

You wil not be able to respond to PMs until you make a few more posts. The minimum number of post required to send PMs is 6, I think. I could be 10.

While contracts and add-ons are handled under the same membership number, they are legally separate contracts, and can be sold separately if the need arises. So you 160 SSR and 190 AKV would have one membership number, but legally be two separate contracts, as long as they are deeded identically.

The other thing you want to do is after your initial 160, break the other 190 into smaller contracts, say 3 50 point contracts and a 40 point. This way in the future if you want to cut down on points (or need to), you can sell off the smaller ones rather than have to drop the whole 190. (or if you want to give each kid one contract when they get older).

Completely agree with this ... or do (3) 65 pointers or something ... you have access to the whole lot, it just makes it easier to break things down later. Once you have an X point contract, you can't sell a portion of those points, you have to sell the whole thing.

Also, it's better to start off small ... you can always do add-ons ... ;)
